Chirs Perkings Draft Pick Argument

Wtf?

Miami has an embarrassingly bad crew of beat reporters. I don't know if it's a salary issue, but the great city of Miami deserves better. Surely UF or the U are producing qualified journalism students in any given year.

If management thinks that controversy sells eyeballs, think again. I'm not clicking on that because of the idiocy. I am always eager for good content but I think so lowly of these Dolts I barely go to the SS site. Perk is low energy and doesn't get enough help or input from scouts or other professionals like, say, Barry Jax does. Instead, Perk wings it with his untrained eye. He defends himself by saying he predicted 8-8 every year. Whoop de do. That doesn't justify anything. These sources have an opportunity to get clicks if they bring real homework and good content to the table.

Perkins and Omar honestly should be writing about high school sports at best.

if you can't outscore the opposing team, you don't win. very few teams can have an offense that scores an average under 20 and still win, but if they do, it's because they have a top 3 defense, something one player will not give us.

Another example of writing something stupid to get responses.

With all due respect to Mr. Perkins ............. that's some dumbazzz shiz right there. Epic Failsauce by the truckload. That's in Omar's range of stupid.

Sure, one can make a case for drafting a different player. Sure there is a valid argument for getting a defensive player for Vance Joseph's new aggressive scheme. But Darron Lee is NOT the guy. Lee is a very poor man's Shazier. Tunsil is 5 times the prospect Lee is.

Even the team that drafted Lee tried to trade up to draft Tunsil instead.

Perkins should stick to reporting. His strategizing is not up to par

I think the value for Tunsil was too good to pass up.

However, I will say I think Miami should have spent the rest of the picks on defense. And they shouldn't have traded a 4th round pick to move up in the second or given up next year's 3rd, 4th and a 6th for Carroo. The Dolphins have let the cupboards run dry on the defense far too long.

It's a fair question. I'm a defensive first guy and I like Lee a lot. Think that was a great pick for the Jets and Todd Bowles will know how to use him.

Miami definitely went against the grain going offense in the draft. But, it makes sense. You've got to have some elite offense talent to matchup against the quality defenses in the AFC East. Tunsil can be that elite left tackle that can hold the opponents' best pass rusher in check. That's worth a ton.

A good O line in my opinion can affect both sides of the ball

I agree. I think people forget the value of offensive lineman sometimes. Not a glamorous position, but critical to a teams' success. Some will argue that offensive lineman don't make plays, aren't difference makers etc. But if you have an offensive lineman that can give the quarterback and extra second or two that could be the difference between a big play for the offense or a negative play.

Agree......that results in the offense controlling the clock mote and consequently the defense resting more. With tunsil, pouncey & James, I think we have 3 lineman we can build around for years to come

Thank you!

This is beyond stupid. Lets ignore the fact that you're passing up a top 3 talent in the draft in Tunsil for a top 30 talent in Darron Lee.. Lets forget that for a minute.

You're selecting a LB in round 1 and selecting a CB in round 2.

When Albert goes down in Week 4, who is protecting Tannehill in this make or break season???

Bushrod/Dallas Thomas/Pouncey/(Douglas/Turner)/James?

NO THANKS! Perkins would draft a LB/CB and he'd be the same guy writing cookie cutter Tannehill disappointment articles half way through the season.

James Walker and Chris Perkins are about as qualified to be Miami Dolphin reporters as my 12 year old niece is to run a business.

This article is beyond idiotic because this is a cynical jackass writing an article that makes the Dolphins wrong no matter what.

And do you know the hell this Perkins would have rained down on our heads and the salt he would have been rubbing in the fans' wounds if we had NOT drafted Tunsil. OMG!
