Clay: Pay it!

my bad.... was asking.... would you pay him 8 mil???

Eh... All depends on the contract structure.

What it really comes down to is over paying Clay because nothing is on the market.

FA market is terrible.

TE draft is terrible.

It's either Julius who is gone, Cameron, or Clay. Cameron comes with the medical and I guess Clay as well with the knee.

Guess we role with Sims?

agreed.... I'm all in on Clay though... would just like to work the 8 mil or whatever out in a long term deal though.

struggling with the knee and playing through it is much better than one tackle away from ending your career cause of your brain. that sucks

Why let him get away?

How much better is RT and how much better is the offense with him here?

He could really be a key reason why we make the playoffs in 2016

You think we can do it again? You sir, have a lot more faith then I do

I don't care what kind of chemistry Thill and Clay have, not for that money, time for Thill to grow up and be able to play with any semi decent receivers like all the other good QBs are able to do

I'd rather make due with Simms, Lynch, and a draft pick than overpay for Clay. He's a good player, and he helped are team. That's why I might swallow the money, which I didn't want us giving Hartline, to sign Clay $6-per. More than that, I can't do it for a good/not-really-good player.

We have plenty of games without him to judge that buy. Tannehill seemed to do just fine. I'd prefer to keep him, but not at a Gronk price. Not even close.

We auditioned a Clay replacement last year. Gator Hoskins had the same potential skill set. It didn't work out, but they'll try Lynch this year, and they'll find another draft project.

Clay is a nice player, but we can't put that kind of money into his position.

Not a Gamebreaker.
DCs dont stay up at night game planning against Clay.
Though he played hurt last season I dont think it helped us.

They may not stay up at night but their planning for him. There is a lot more planning on him then Rishard Matthews

Gronk is making $9 Graham $10

Vernon, Gates, Witten, Rudolph all around $8.5

vernon, gates, and witten were all bonafide top 5 tes when they got paid and were among some of the most talented in the league at high points of their career

clay ain't there yet, so it's hard to pay em that kind of 8/8.5 money.....

He may have done fine without him but think about how it is with him. And I have smoked but pick up Cameron too?

Why not...

I would rather have the cap money. 8-9 mil is way too much. they are going to frontload it. I am n Buffalo area these past few days. They waited for Suh deal details to frontload it so we cant pay. Which is exactly why Jordan is in Miami. And if he can overcome concussions, that's a nice cheaper, hopefully one year prove it deal.

we could pay it, but why? its ridiculous. the dude is already looking at houses up here.

Why not? Because that is a ton of money to invest in a position that we already have good depth in. And sure, he'd do better with him, but would the difference be worth the loss of addressing another position in greater need? Not in my opinion.
