clayton was on espn radio talking about what it would cost to trade up for rg3. he said its only between the browns and the redskins, the dolphins are out bc it would cost them to much.
i know its just one mans opinion, but i dont think we will pull the trigger bc knowing fisher he wants to screw us again.

I think more like "we are out of it" because we have our choice between a veteran who is one of the best QBs available ever in Manning and a guy who is roughly RGIII's age but with NFL experience in Flynn.

As much as those players are risks at least there is SOME NFL game film on them. RGIII is a steeper risk at a higher cost.

Well, Flynn is going to be 27 soon, with 3 years experience. So you are about correct.

yea i think if manning is available he is def the choice. but clayton was speaking in terms if none of the teams didnt land manning or flynn, then the dolphins wouldnt be able to give up what the rams want.

Too steep of a price. RG3 is definitely talented, no doubt, but we have plenty of holes to fill. We are not a QB away from the Superbowl.

imo flynn is a bigger risk. look at what he had around him in GB. and who knows if he can do the same thing for a different team. rg3 comes in fresh, plus he is just a better player imo
cost wise you are right.

i dont know. if we have manning next year the sky is the limit. the d is good enough. our o needs a qb rt, and one more playmaker. i think we will go far with a good gb

Not necessarily. Arizona gambled big on Kolb and came up snake eyes, and one year later they are already discussing cutting him and moving on. With RGIII, you would compromise two drafts worth of picks.

Don't get me wrong. I want NOTHING more as a Dolphins fan than for the team to actually grow some nuts and pursue the QB they believe can do the job...and if that is RGIII then so be it and I will be very happy. I am purely going off of what I would do, and based on how Ireland seems to covet draft picks more than anything on this team, I bet he feels similarly.

Nail on the head sir.

No quarterback is worth two or three drafts worth of players. I like RG III, but the price is way to high considering how many holes the Dolphins have to fill.

The price is pretty high and the front office may feel it's worthwhile to use their draft picks on future starters and pick up a QB from the available veterans on the market.

I think RGIII could be tremendous with Philbin and Sherman, but I do agree the price would probably be too steep.

I'm not a fan of giving up so much for the "2nd" best QB prospect in this draft. I don't mind trading up but damn if its true that the Rams want the motherload they can keep the pick and draft him themselves.

The only issue I have with not reaching for him (if he turns out to be as good as speculated by some) is if we do not find our QB of the future QB this year and we continue to improve our record each season, it becomes more and more difficult to make a reach for a QB as we move further back in the draft order. If we go 8-8 next year it will be even more expensive for us to move up in the next draft (if we are interested in doing that). We could find ourselves in a similiar situtation as KC. They run in the middle of the pack and are saddled with a mediocre QB.
