Clayton on Couch

Tim Couch, that would make 3 QB's who cant throw the ball accuratley or perticularily well on the roster. Maybe we should bring John Elway out of retirement just to keep the trend going, his arm while dead probably works better than these guys.

That is some funny stuff and probably the truth. IMO Tim Couch has had more experience than Feeley and has failed alot more. I dont think Couch sucks. Why would we sign a QB that is not the future.

Who in this forum is tired of this QB competition? Since 01 we have had this competition every spring and throughout the season. We have gotten WR after WR sucky lineman after lineman. But we have yet to reach out and go deep for a QB worth a crap to run this team.

Tim Couch is a good QB who played for a real bad Browns team, trust me, I know living up here in Ohio, I follow the Browns. I was always wondering what would happen if the Dolphins signed him...I think he would show his ability here with all the weapons we have, not only that, but a way better offensive line. Has anybody even seen Cleveland's offensive line last year? Every QB they had in there got drilled and was on the IR at some point in the season, to put it mildly...they sucked big time!

Good, we need another backup since we got rid of Berlin today. We can then be back to 4 backups and no starter...whoopee!

I think he is head and shoulders above anyone on the roster at DT, plus he's younger. If the team had the cap space to sign him, I'd be for it, but I doubt they can get it.

I don't agree with you. Obviously the Eagles don't either. Apparently they don't think he's that hard to replace.
Carter and Holliday can both play DT and I'm not sure he's clearly better than they are.

Why would we sign a QB that is not the future? Why would we not. There can be only one starter, however, we will carry three quarterbacks. In my opinion you always attempt to upgrade the roster. Tim Couch, if healthy, is better than one of: A.J., Gus, or Sage. That, in my opinion, is enough to sign him.

The quarterback of the future will likely come through the NFL draft, possibly via free agency next offseason. We have to concentrate on this team, this year. No quarterback on our roster is the future, so lets upgrade the position best we can. If Couch is healthy, he upgrades our quarterback position for the present.

I say cut Rosenfels and sign Couch. He deserves a shot & maybe he can come back. It wouldn't hurt. Frerotte is terrible & I don't believe they are going to give Feeley a chance. Bring Couch in. If we can get him cheap Sign him!!

not quite....I don't believe there was mention of him throwing 60 yards without any pain...rather it was more reminiscing to the day when he:

"Tim Couch fakes a handoff, pirouettes left, dashes five steps, gets his feet set under him and launches a perfect spiral some 60 yards downfield."

That was out of the article describing him before his injury.

No, this article written today in the Miami herald is talking about Couch, with Lisa Kearns (his physical therapist) practicing monday in UM's soccer and track field. Couch was trowing to Ric Hensley (who used to be his WR in HS). And he threw a 60 yard perfect spiral. It happened yesterday, not before his injury.

Just a quick note for anyone interested. I am in the Seattle and John Clayton was just on the local sportsradio station as he is every Tuesday at 11:30 (local time). I missed the main body of what he had to say today, because I was in a meeting. However, as he was getting ready to close out the show, he was summing some things up and stated that Tim Couch is moving close to signing with the Dolphins.

Obviously that is all I have, there is no link. I did not get to hear the "background" on that comment, so take it for what it is worth.

If that is true we may thankfully be able to put all this Rohan Davey talk to rest! :D

Looks like ...Hello Couch and Goodbye Feeley.

Sure, that's going to happen! :shakeno:

Sage will be let go, Couch will sit at 3rd string all year learning the system for a push next year. He won't sniff the starting lineup unless all hell breaks loose. It's too late for Couch to learn the system, the players and to work himself back into the NFL game in 1 week. They aren't letting Feeley go, he's challenging for the starting job. He may very well be let go next year but not this season.

That's even IF Couch is actually signed.

Geeez, it's absolutely amazing how many posters need the obvious fed to them! :shakeno:

we don´t have to break the bank to get couch in here, simon is another story but i don´t really know if his signing would be a good idea, we would throw serious money on the defensive side again and i dunno right now but is simon known to be a run stopper ? i know he can rush the passer
