Goodness gracious, I'm developing a man-crush on Gates.

Clyde Gates just ran into the gate after a floater took him out of bounds. Fans cheered when he got up.

This may seem like nothing but it's that kind of effort, that kind of desire to make a play and sacrifice the body that has been missing here for a while. This is practice but Gates is going all out, giving 100% on this team. I love that!

He's been having decent day today too.

-- Clyde Gates just split a CB and S for what would be a TD pass. He can run the 9 route with ease.

-- Edmond Gates caught an in-route on Vontae Davis. Chad Henne on the throw.

I said in a thread yesterday that he reminds me of Mike Wallace, the Pittsburgh receiver that's Roethlisberger's main deep threat.

Gates may be a middle-round gem. I'm excited to see what he can bring to the table.

Whats interesting is that i believe S.Smith and Y.Bell said he's not as fast as Ginn. Gates can obviously move which makes me ask geez was Ginn really that fast?

Seems like the last couple camp reports are reporting the same news on Gates, TD, TD TD, beat this CB beat that CB, blew by this guy, speed speed speed.. I can't wait to see this guy in a game.

Ginn is probably a top 5 guy in the league in regards to speed. He would've ran in the extremely low 4.2s at the combine if he didn't hurt himself in the BCS championship game.

Ginn could flat out fly . . . but the fact that this kid plays tough and fights for the ball in traffic and in the air should make him a much better NFL WR than Ted Ginn.

To be honest, at full speed, I never saw anybody eat angles up like Ted Ginn did . . . but that only gets you so far.

Ginn was definitely a burner. It makes me mad Henning didn't use him correctly. You think they would send him on deep routes a little more when he was here like the Steelers do with Wallace. Maybe our new OC will do the right thing with Gates.

Yes Ginn can run in the 4.2s and the OSU tracj coach felt he could qualify for US Olympics team in 2008

Sure, but Clyde Gates isn't afraid of contact, and can win jump balls in traffic.

Clyde Gates is a football player. Ted Ginn is a track athlete.

Ginn is fast but he's not quick, more of a long strider that takes a while to get up to speed. Gates is quick and fast.
