Clyde Gates

Gates played at the same school as Johnny Knox did, was 2 year behind and is compared to Knox and Mike Mayock compared him to Mike Wallace.

Interestingly, we could of had both or either one of these WRs but we draft Pat White and Pat Turner instead.

I could never understand why we always pass on any of the top ten fastest WRs or TEs and go for some of the slowest.

I know from fans there was a Anti-Ginn reaction to drafting one of these but I think we know know you have to keep trying. And simply draft a better fast WR.

Really the fastest player i've seen is C.Johnson and i think had that race Joey-don-king-porter tried to setup actually happen, i believe he would have beaten Ginn by at least 5 yards
that depends how far their racing....if its a 40 yard dash,Chris Johnsons gonna win that all day.If we're talking 100 yards...lets just say that'd be a hell of a race

It's nothing to worry about.. keep in mind they only write down the times that he makes a play.. we don't know how many of his other routes were shut down. When you do so many reps, a speedster like him is going to make a play. I mean.. Ginn, for the love god, burned Revis.

You will never ever ever get a JET fan to admit that. You'll always hear they were playing some kinda zone and the safety was late coming across the top.

And then one argument later you hear how Revis never needs safety help and is the best corner in the history of the world.

Parcells, Parcells and Parcells, I remember one time a reporter ask him why he didn't drafted players with speed and his answer was "this isn't a track meet, this is football" god I hate Parcells.

I am excited about Gates. If he has the speed to "take the top off of defenses", he could contribute from day 1. Not only would this open up he field for Hatline, Marshall, or Fasano over the middle, but it would also create extra space for Reggie or Thomas once they get into the second level. I can't wait to see him in the pre-season.

Ginn's straight line speed is the fastest I've ever seen on a football field. Gates will probably be a better football player but as far as just speed I don't think anyone can match Ginn.
2nd fastest I've seen 1st was Ja'Warren Hooker he was the most effortless runner I've ever seen.

is gates going to be our number 3 wr over hartline this year? if so, that would be great. i feel Hartline will be better as a 4 anyways

Ginn maybe faster but this kid can run good routes......and he can catch......Ginn was not a very good route runner and his hands were hit or miss......looking forward to see if this kid is the real deal.

He is a sprinter that played a couple of seasons Washington Huskies in the late 90's. His main problem was it came so easy to him he didn't put in much work into his running. Just to show how fast he was he ran a non wind aided 10.77 100 meters as a sophomore in high school.
