Did he say fitz would start Thursday’s dress rehearsal?
Ugh
Very disappointing.
Don't agree with this. Flores may like Fitz because he's likable not because he believes he is his starter. The coach "glows" when he talks about Fitz. You can tell he really likes the guy.
Honestly, there's nothing wrong with that.
Where coach Flores needs to be careful is in deciding what's best for the team presently and in the future.
This can't/isn't Fitz team for any significant period of team.
The emphasis needs to be can this be a Rosen team? This question needs to be answered as soon as possible.
My early impression is barring something insane they already know Rosen isn't the guy to lead this team in the future.
As such, They're evaluating him more as a back-up/trade potential piece.
Of course, A 2nd round pick for a back-up is extremely expensive.
Good point. I think Rosen outplayed Fitz in game two, but it's not an apples to apples comparison with the second team offense. Make Rosen earn it. That's how it should be.It's supposed to be a fair competition so we'll see. I don't think flores made up his mind yet tbh. He did start Rosen last night so we'll see.
Signs seem to be pointing in that direction. We'll see. I think a lot changes if the light goes on for Rosen. Fitz is clearly a stopgap. He's essentially a Mark Sanchez, a quality backup and a fringe starter. He'll give you a good game here and there, but the consistently is lacking. The same reason Don Stock wasn't staring when Miami had Woodley. The coach "glows" when he talks about Fitz. You can tell he really likes the guy.
