Coaching vs. Personell

at some point the HC and his staff has to make adjustments to the strengths of his players to get something out of them.

Exactly what strengths should the coaching staff have emphasized with a horrible line, no RBs, avg WRs and an inconsistent inexperienced QB? Maybe they somewhat overachieved?

the gms had time to fit what we want to do...he made no efforts this offseason to remedy that with the oline especially which is the primary reason we are at home right now...add in the yearly crappy drafts with 2nd and 3rd round picks which many teams build their rosters with and the lb signings in free agency and he should be gone already...

no doubt there needed to be more adjustments with the personnel we do have but the oc puts the gameplans together and calls the plays...philbin may have wanted him to pass more given the looks defenses gave us and the tape study showed we couldn't line up and run the ball directly at someone anyways (again personnel driven issues there) but if anyone takes the fall this offseason for the failures its the gm and the oc...and a couple position coaches...ireland has had enough time to get things right...

his problem well one of em is he tries to plug issues with money in free agency and that's always a bad recipe...you dont build your roster thru free agency and because we draft poorly we do...smart teams build thru the draft and replenish in it

get a new gm

Talent was fine.

Hit a couple passes to Wallace deep when he's wide open, this team is in the playoffs and were not talking about this ****.

I will say this, the LB corp and Oline needs a major overhaul, the secondary is fine besides a couple guys.

Fix that and Miami is a double digit win team

i've honestly come to the conclusion that ireland does not know what he's doing...poor evaluator...it's either that or his scout team sucks...probably both

whoever is evaluating personnel and the draft is lost...they pay crap free agents big money run a scheme that doesnt fit what they have and draft garbage every year...if he stays i'm sure 2014 will be more of the same

Ireland is a ****ing retard. We're a full year late on what should have been a good team already. The receiving weapons he supplied came a year late for our young QB, they should have been able to grow together and get the timing down last season, like what Luck had. The protection is a year late (hopefully its only one year late), we should have went all in this season on making sure Tannehill had every opportunity to succeed NOW, not next year. We had $22 million sitting in the bank that should have been used on at least ONE more cornfed, wtf are we pinching pennies for?

It seems like we're an ant in an ant lion hole. Each time we try to get out of the hole some sand shifts and further down we go until the ant lion of mediocrity forever devours us.

that's true...he neglected the wr position also with a rookie qb no less giving him like no win options...i almost forgot about that...yeah this clowns head needs to roll...like yesterday

This team does not have enough talent. Wallace, Hartline, and Tannehill are not the talent to take you to the playoffs. That much is obvious. If you're going to run a tempo WCO offense you need playmakers, and neither of those 3 "big acquisitions" is the man for the job. Neither is the depth at LB to combat different teams in the NFL.
As far as coaching, the offensive gameplan could be improved. But the problem remains, you cannot win with the big 3, Wallace, Hartline, Tannehill.

I've been saying that about him for a while. He drafts like Mel Kiper...gives no regard to scheme fit. I'm not sure he knows how to draft for a specific scheme...his free agent signings and draft picks would indicate he doesn't.

true...i see miscast guys all over the place...and we traded up into the top 5 for a 34 olb

We had the talent and the coaching to beat 4 of the 6 playoff teams in the AFC but, did not have the talent nor the coaching to beat the Jets at home or at least split with the Bills?

For me, a team will normally get upset a game during the year, and MAYBE two but, when you lose more than that vs teams you should beat, I have to point to the coaching. JMO
