Anybody else hear that this morning?

He was talking with Chris Mortensen on his radio show. Mort basically thought he was crazy for thinking that.

I've been trying to find the link but I don't have ESPN insider.

you'd have to be ignorant to assume that the phins will struggle to win even a few games this season....... its a whole new season dolphin fans.... and the team is in good hands now. It will take a whole lot of injuries for us to win less than 4.

its real easy for people to look at last years record and assume we're by far the worst team in the NFL, but they conviniently forget that we lost half our starters before the season was half over. Not to mention we handed over the team to Tuna.

Im with you on the injuries, It has to be one of the most important factors for our debacle last season...But there was also a fire that was missing, a pourous OLine, the Dline never mended its losses personell wise, and terrible QB play. All of those factors, contributed to the team loosing its focus, determination, and motivation. I really beleive we have a shot at ANY team this year!

Miami was in so many games last year until the wire, and we were so awful talent wise and coaching wise. Our team has improved 100% since then, and our coaching staff should be better than what we had in Cam Cameron, so I'd say 6-8 wins is a fair assessment.
If Our QB can be somewhat competent, we should be looking at a season such as this:

NY Jets - toss up. I believe we will split with them. Have em at home. W
Cardinals - should be one of our winnable games. Lets say W.
Pats - L
Chargers - L
@ Houston - We almost had them last year, and we are much much better now. W
Ravens - Toss up. Honestly can't pick a side here. I'd say W
Bills - I also believe we sill split with the Bills. Buffalo is a really solid team now. W/L
Denver - L
Seattle - L
Oakland - They have a solid defense but aren't that great against the run. Our strongest point. They have the QB and the RB, but no one to throw to or block. Who knows. W/L
Pats - L
St Louis Rams - Honestly who knows. Id say we should win this, but we could just as easily not. I'll still say W
Buffalo - It's in Toronto. Not sure what that means. I can see us stepping up our performance. W/L
49ers - we should beat them. Talent wise, they are worse than we are. W
KC Chiefs - Another struggling team that is young at most skill positions. They are going to be just like us, and the Rams. Honestly, these should be exciting games. Still, I think they have too strong of a passing game for us to defense as well as LJ. L
NY jets - L

Best case scenario - 9-7
Worst case scenario - 6-10

Did Mort think he was crazy for thinking 7 wins was to high/low?

Mort thought that 7 wins was too high. Colin said he looked at the schedule and thinks it's very possible for the Fins to win 7 games. When the interview was over Mort said "Go Browns" to which Colin replied "Go Dolphins!"

parcells took this team because he knew they were not as bad as their record; poor coaching

I'm thinking 5-11 or 6-10...but no better. And to be honest after sitting thru 17 painful weeks last year...that wont be so bad.

"Remember" last year we had a host of starting players out of the lineup on both sides of the ball......at some positions we were down to our 3rd stringers starting.....holly crap! That in it self make it hard to compete and win in any level!!..esp..in the "NFL"

And as a team,,,WOW.. we were a hurting in each and every direction you turned from the coaching staff to the players and what was really crazy about it all... our Dolphins were still in a lot of the games untill the end.

BTW,
just how many games were lost last year by 3???....

Also with a little better play calling on our part and better calls by the "Referees" I fill we could have won more games.

IMO....
this year we will be a better team all the way around...possiable 7 & 9

In 2008 we will be the surprise team of lucky breaks and good fortune. It's the course of nature. The reason why, the network executives have banned us from primetime games. Everything will go our way.

It's not that far out of a prediction because he's simply basing it on the fact that all the teams Parcells has coached have averaged nearly 7 wins in their 1st season with him at the helm. He's not the coach, but he's running the show. That probably played a part in his reasoning.
