Colts give Jonathan Taylor permission to be Traded

I’m curious - what is the belief here? That JT is injured or not? I hope he is traded and Miami is the leading spot. That’s why I came here. I thought some would want an Indy perspective and I was curious what Miami fans thoughts were. Unfortunately the only thing I’ve engaged with is Irsay sucks and it’s all his fault. As usual the truth is likely in between.

What I’m curious is if he has a lingering ankle injury would you still want to trade for him? The procedure he had should have recovered in 6-8 weeks. He had it in January. If he’s faking the injury, would you still want to trade for him?

Achane looks nowhere near being ready to make a consistent impact for us. Outside of that we have Mostert, Wilson and Ahmed. I don’t have a whole lot of faith in all of those dudes staying healthy. We’re at the point right now where we kinda need to say F the future and push all our chips to the center of the table. We’ll figure out the money later, try to win now.
I thought he was good enough for 15 touches 100 yards- Alvin Kamara's first year type beat. I think the other 3 are serviceable enough, and theres plenty of ok options on the market if we needed something, bc I dont think JT is gonna be the end all be all for us. But, this does look like our year so to speak

No. Not if not healthy on second contract especially.

If the colts made up a back injury out of thin air and hoped to get out of paying JT then yes that is grade level ****. I don’t believe that to be true. You do. And yes I believe a team trying to not pay their best offensive player 4 million by making up an injury out of thin - damaging the relationship and his trade value - to be a ridiculous take. If I came here suggesting the Fins did so you would rightly tell me the same.
Rm1369: "Anyone want to talk anything logical about the situation or discuss JT as a player, let me know. Otherwise I’m done here. There is no point."

He’s clearly faking the injury and yes, I’d still want to trade for him even though he’s faking an injury because faking an injury is the only option open to him if he doesn’t want to play for Jim Irsay, which he doesn’t. He’s always been an A+ character person and player—Irsay is the issue, not Taylor.

Since the Dolphins aren't owned by Jim Irsay, I don’t think we’ll have the same issue with him.

There is more fighting in this thread than actual updates. Has anyone seen or heard anything? Honestly I think JT would put this team over the top because of how it affects others on the roster. Teams would realize that they have to load the box and with all the speed we have on the outside it is the exact opposite of what a team has to do to combat us.
JT would do wonders for us and I think Grier is ready to extend him or we would not have offered the colts a package.

Go Fins! Get it done Grier!

Yes we made and offer and it was rejected, is the rumor.

Agreed.

I don't like him doing it. Under normal circumstances I would move on.

But when the owner goes on Twitter and does what he does.

I am pretty sure that escalated Taylor's response.

Had Irsay kept quiet, or not aired the dirty laundry in public, Taylor would most likely be lining up week 1 at RB for the Colts.

Irsay can believe that, he may be right. But you don't engage in social media that way. You have that stance behind closed doors

I hope that’s the case. Either way for the colts that’s the best case. But he’s definitely selling it if he is:

There really hasn't been much in terms of updates. Adam Schefter has said a couple of things:
1. The Bears are not trading for Taylor and
2. He does not believe Taylor is going to be traded.

According to some reports JT had already requested a trade prior to any comments by Irsay. The team didn’t make him a contract extension offer. He likely felt offended by that. Pittman is in the same boat, but WRs have been getting paid WRs have not. I believe Ballard’s comments about “the market being the market” to be a bigger issue than anything Irsay said. Rumors have been JT wanted to set a new high for RB contracts. That coming out of the zoom meeting all the RBs had this summer. He made since to be the flag bearer.
