Colts give Jonathan Taylor permission to be Traded

All in this year
If we do this trade we better win the Superbowl this year bc our future is non existent. We'll have to cut so many guys to get under the cap we will have dead money on the books for years. We wont have enough picks to reload. It's f***ing franchise suicide if we don't win it this year.

It's just against everything I want to see from this franchise. It's crazy IMO CRAZY!

I don’t think us trading for Taylor is a good idea, but this isn’t even close to true. We are fine with the cap and have plenty of flexibility next year and into the future. We don’t have to cut anyone other than Ogbah and Ced Wilson unless we want to.

This board is always so histrionic about the salary cap. It’s so much easier to navigate and manipulate than many on here seem to realize. We could build a mega-team and push void years and dead money out a half decade into the future and not even worry about it until 2028 if that’s what we wanted to do.

It will be very simple for us to keep the guys we want to keep. The hard part is getting enough good players on fair deals—not finding a way to afford good players on fair deals.

I understand we can get under the cap next year. But how do we get under the cap and create enough money to either resign or fill the holes left by all the FA I mentioned. 4 starting Olinemen, both starting DEs, starting wr3 and wr4, MLB and starting strong saftey?

We can draft some guys to fill the holes, but we can't draft Olinemen so that position group needs to be bought.

We need every pick we have, we need as much money as possible. Trading and paying Taylor just seems like it destroys any chance of keeping a good team on the field past this year.

And we should be equally stupid?
I don't think so.
Sure thing Ray....

Pre McCaffrey, SF averaged 20.7 ppg (20th) and with Christian they scored 30.5 ppg (2nd best).

They were 3-4 before, and 7-0 after.

Went from 13th to 5th in Yards per game.

One player, improved the entire offense drastically. Everyone in SF is collectively saying FUGG THEM PICKS.

can this please end sooner than the dalvin cook stupidity. if we didn't sign dalvin cook, which took NO draft picks and only a 1 year deal for not a lot of money, NO idea why anyone would want Taylor, who was hurt and unproductive last year and there is no way to exactly know what he is at this point. and we are up against the cap, and it would also be nice to keep our draft picks and use them productively

My take is the asking price is too high ATM. Why go public, no need unless you ain't getting enough interest at your asking price

I just dont think this is how you build a dynasty. granted I'll be dead before we can build a legit dynasty, so i should be happy with the 1 year super bowl push. Just would be nice if the future was set up for us to keep good talent on rookie contracts around Tua instead of 2 years from now being in such cap hell with no quality rookies on good contracts. So if i was any of yall healthy happy people then i would be pissed with this thought since we are going to have bottom of the barrell and undrafted free agents protecting tua because we cant afford to sign good lineman. not to mention the money we will be wasting on waddles big pay day because the qb will be dead or not have time to get him the ball.
