Colts give Jonathan Taylor permission to be Traded

There are so many guys already on this team I would pay before a running back. Even one as good as Taylor.

Then to have to give up a slew of picks the Fins can't afford to lose makes it an easy NO for me.

This is not Fantasy Football, RB's don't win games or Championships anymore.

The word is a first or picks that add up to a 1st. And highly unlikely they would tag and trade burning that tag on a player who doesn't want to be there. They have to take what they can get this year. Never know though I guess.
Who else would they tag next year?

Difference is Taylor is 24, in his prime. Cook is exiting his prime, maybe another decent year or two left.

Grier will certainly explore and stranger things have happened but it does look like a long shot between trade package necessary and the $$. Now if you can unload Cedric Wilson and another chunky contract, could maybe work. Will see.

While I understand folks worried about our future cap and what players we will be able to keep in coming years I’m just less concerned with maintaining our mediocrity and much more concerned with actually being good and winning in the playoffs which we haven’t done in nearly a quarter century. Also if Tua is as good as most seem to think we should be competitive going forward no matter what, if not we’ll continue to be mediocre regardless of our future cap space until we can find a QB.
Cook would have been a 1 year deal so his age is irrelevant. Doing things like giving up picks and alot of $ for JT is what makes a team mediocre, as opposed to better. RB doesnt add that much value in modern NFL, you have to do the math. Add JT, whatever he brings, lose all the draft picks and the cap space and the players you lose along with that cap space. End of day, you are worse, not better. This move would be sooooooo Dolphins

Then we’d probably give up Brooks in the trade and he ends up being the new Derrick Henry for the next 8 years! 🤦

Sure. Coach is for what they do but Grier is a grown man with a big job and nice paycheck who is responsible for the picks he makes. I think Grier had done very well but he's not just the order taker for the coach. He was a scout and all of the scouts report to him.

I get this. My point is that there's middle ground.

My boss in Manhattan used to have a saying when there was a disagreement. "You can do it my way, or you can do it your way. But if you do it your way and **** up, it's on you."

I think Colts are proving a point to Jonathan Taylor. That he will not have the trade interest he thinks he will have and and will not get the enormous amount of money he is looking for as well. I just hate investing multiple assets for a RB AND Paying him a large contract. I'm sure that's what he wants, not about just being traded but wants that $$$.

Agree. The only team capable of making a ridiculous splash move is Dallas.

Personally I’m fine with our RB group, you want to go out and get a shiny new toy….Go get me a TE that can move the sticks!
All the better QB’s in the league had/have a good TE to throw to.
Brady/Gronk and the criminal
Mahomes/Kelce
Brees/Grahamn
Manning/Dallas Clark
Hurts/Goddardt

Hell that Andrews makes Lamar Jackson look good!
Is it bad that one of my first thoughts was, "Hey, let's invite Jim Irsay to South Beach for a couple days and negotiate there?"
No, your safe!
Bad is wanting the plane to go down!

Hopefully they trade him to another team ASAP. That way this won’t turn into a Cook thread that ended up being all about nothing regarding him signing with the Dolphins.

The funny thing is, I'm pretty sure the posts complaining about the Cook thread could be turned into an equally annoying thread.
