Colts give Jonathan Taylor permission to be Traded

Pot meet kettle.

Exaggerate much?

Most of us are looking to take advantage of a rare opportunity and buy low on a premium talent.

2 of the top 12 picks in the draft were RBs. Are those teams run by drug addicts too?

You smarter than Belichek, Carroll and Vrabel too, who invest in RBs?

What was the biggest weakness on offense last year genius?
Our offensive line was and still is our biggest weakness.

Very few people in this forum have said they are willing to give a first for Taylor….so what fanbase are you talking about? The one that doesn’t feel that the colts asking price is worth it?
By wanting Taylor your willing to due a few stupid things.

Give up draft picks. At least a 2nd and more via players or more picks and were entering cap hell and need our picks to remain relevant bc we need cheap talented players.

Neglecting, said cap situation and the players we need to resign, like 4 of our 5 starting Olinemen and both our DEs. Without picks to replace them or money to resign them were not winning **** with olinemen we find at FedEx

And the biggest offense, giving a running back a multi year deal far north of 10 million a season, Taylor wants McCaffrey money! Paying a RB that much hasn't equaled a Superbowl in over a decade, it simply is the wrong use of your cap dollars.

Our offensive line was and still is our biggest weakness.

So what better way to than to keep teams from blitzing then by having a good run game. They actually graded out as 7th best run blocking line we just didn’t run the ball. Top 3 guards and RT’s don’t appear to be on the market so why not take the runningback that can help the entire offense by taking pressure off everyone else.

Ya and there is literally nothing you can do it about it other than add a RB who will help all facets of the offense. OL typically prefer to run block all day vs pass block anyway.

OL isn’t a position, it’s a unit, it’s not something you can just go out and get.

I’m not (and the FO) going to pass up adding a game changing RB to this team because you think the 60th pick in the draft is going to make some monumental difference.

I am yes, when it comes to the runningback position.

I am curious to know which OL your targeting to upgrade the unit?

Please let me know quickly and not 3 days from now.

Also, which teams won Super Bowls without an effective running game that you’re trying to model this team after?

Lastly, who has the best OL in the NFL right now?

Taylor wasn't very good running behind the Colts average Oline last season, he was statistically worse than both Moestert and Wilson and our oline isn't any better than the Colts was last year.

How do you know he wasn't a product of the Colts good oline play in 2019-2021. Maybe Taylor was a byproduct of having a very good oline. Colts oline got worse and Taylor fell off a cliff.

Even more reason to grab one. You go with the grain then what makes a team special and it comes down to a qb battle then we have to constantly ask is Tua better than Mahomes/ Burrow which is a tough battle. Nfl offenses are constantly changing and when you have had the same meta for so many years only a matter of time before it comes full circle and we are back to great running games. Why not beat the curve and Taylor our game differently then what other teams have? The two teams that shut us down last year did it by dropping their linebackers deeper than normal, hard to drop linebackers when you have a guy that can pound the rock like Taylor.
You want to beat Mahomes by scoring fewer points?

By running the ball more and passing less?

Playing that way on purpose considering the rules being what they are is beyond foolish.

You are literally leaving points on the field.

You would need to play a near perfect game and catch the breaks to win that way and you would have to do it 3 or 4 times in a row.

That does not seem like the strategy to bet on coming up good for you consistently. Sure you would beat all the bad teams that way but you aren't winning titles.

The case for building an incredible defense to stop Mahomes would make more sense, it would still be wrong but it would make more sense.

Now it would be that in this day and age you have to have mahomes(or one of the 2-3 guys on his level)to win championships and that is just the way it is.

In that case you should be using you ammo to try to find the next great QB and hope to be smart/lucky in that endeavor.

Plus he's a good pass blocker. Better than any we currently have on the roster...

We f***ed that long ago when we didn't address it in the offseason and you know it. Getting Taylor won't fix the oline this year but it will go a long way to making it worse in the future. Bc we won't have resources to replace Wynn, Hunt, Jackson and Williams.

No way we resign all of them, we'll be lucky to keep one of them with our cap problems next year. And you guys wanna give away our draft picks that we desperately need to address the this unit.

Trading picks and blowing our cap on a runningback has been proven, year after year to be the wrong way to build a team. Just look at the highest paid RBs over the last decade. Not one of them has been on a Superbowl roster.

You guys think your arguing with me but every single thing I'm saying is backed up by statical data.

I'll worry about the future in the future. I'm sick of waiting around building for tomorrow. Our window is wide open and we should be doing everything we can to win now. Right now. This season.

We'll figure everything else out when the time comes.

The Colts didn't have **** for a passing game and the other teams knew it. Taylor was their only legitimate threat and the opposition knew that. Stop Taylor and you stop the Colts...

Guys he’s right you can’t argue with statical data.

We could’ve had a first round pick this year and nothing would be different with the offense other than the talent in the TE room.

You think the league is loaded with quality OL but it’s not. Nor have recent drafts been.

All we need to be is average and healthy.

You think Tua got hurt because the OL?

You think comparing the statistics of a RB facing 8 men in the box is somehow comparable to RBs who ran primarily against nickel defenses?

You’re confident these backs can somehow pick up the 3rd and 1s they couldn’t last year? Which was the biggest weakness of the 2022 offense.

As if I’m going to pay Ja’Wann Taylor $20M a year to give up 5 sacks and get 7 penalties.
