Colts give Jonathan Taylor permission to be Traded

you think we can get Taylor, pay him and then pay Wilkins too?

Yes. And I think the draft compensation part of this scenario worries me more than how they would structure his potential contract.

We need players to pay in 2025, 2026 and beyond other than Tua, Waddle, Phillips and Holland.

I am sure they can structure things optimally for the cap charges.

Additionally, you get both players for 2023 regardless.

At the end of the day you still have leverage over the situation.

Personally I think the Bears should get involved here and make it a non issue by stealing him.

Keep in mind if we trade for him it'd mean they're admitting they made a mistake drafting achane......JT wants big money that we don’t have and we're already down our 3rd and 4th round picks
They’re 2 different backs… Achane could still have been our draft pick if we had Taylor already on our roster- that being said, not sure we can afford Taylor and resign our guys

I just think after bringing back 4 RB's and then trading for Taylor they'd have spent the pick on another position .......right now as it is we're gonna have to let go of a couple of RB's that will be on somebody’s roster this year at some point

You dont have to correct me. Im aware of where we drafted our players. The point is, one panned out and one didnt, so we choose the guy who didnt to make the statment. Stop being an autist
Ha ha. Then by your logic we can go back in hindsight and say that every player that has succeeded after Igbinoghene is a "player Miami passed on" for Igbinoghene. I think you didn't know how the draft panned out that year and you are just pissed that I pointed it out.

Alternatively, had we known that we would trade for Taylor, would we have resigned all of the RBs? Maybe Mostert and/or Wilson don’t get resigned, and McDaniel still lobbies for Achane due to his playmaking ability.

If that makes you feel like you “won” then you are welcome to believe that. I just dont think it mattered that much, both players we took were within 11 picks of taylor and were both available. Why does it matter so much to you what order it was in? You’re clearly on the spectrum

Honestly, he had a big drop off from the season before and is coming off injury. He’s a hell of a back but him wanting to get paid, any red flags should be amplified.

Can anyone name a game changing play that Wilkins has ever had in his career?

July 27th some of you guys called me crazy

The only thing I know is that we are interested and have not stopped conversation with them in a few weeks. The Dolphins know what the Colts want. They also know what an extension for JT would look like. Now it’s just a matter of if we accept the terms.

Do you have any insight into what the Colts want and/or what JT’s extension would look like?
