Colts give Jonathan Taylor permission to be Traded

Someone posts this every time there’s any smoke surrounding a big move. Negotiations man.

You can always tell which posters must’ve been a handful leading up to Xmas as a kid.

My older son is like that. The anticipation is too much for him.

You're entitled to your opinion, but spare us the "Dont understand the game of football" nonsense.
Sorry if my comment offends you but the fact is there are some posters who do seem to have a limited knowledge when it comes to the game. That doesn’t make them bad fans but sometimes I wonder if they really understand the importance some players actually have to the overall play of the team.

Why is that?

Irsay wants this concluded by Tuesday so they can start to set their final roster.

As an aside comment, I think the Colts will be in the running for the top pick. Marvin Harrison Jr. might be joining dad’s squad.

My Opinion: Every day that goes by, this trade gets further and further from happening. Again, I hope I’m wrong.
Agreed. Grier acts quickly on trades and doesn't twiddle his nuts for long. Hill, Chubb, Ramsey and the 2021 Draft trades all happened seemingly out of nowhere with very little rumors being spread. If the media "knows about it" and Grier hasn't made a trade within 48 hours, you can safely assume it's probably a longshot given the guy's track record.

DTs who produce sacks and actual metrics. Being a leader of a team doesn't guarantee salary. Wilkins is a good not great player. Better than average. Would be fine with 6-10 money not 1-5. I'm sure most here agree.
Trading a great DT for a RB is a pretty foolish idea because all this would ensure is that our defense won't be able to get off the field for our new RB to shine

According to a report on MSN, the Colts refused the Dolphins latest offer for Taylor but I assume they are still talking. Supposedly the Bears and Broncos are also interested in trading for Taylor and I guess a few other teams will be involved in the trade talks too.

Taylor might want to come to Miami, like Cook wanted to sign with the Dolphins but it will eventually come down to meeting the demands the Colts want in a trade and being able to pay Taylor the money he wants to sign a new contract.

The Colts gave Taylor until Tuesday to get it done since that is the day every team must be down to their final 53 man roster. So if he is going to be traded before the season starts, there is only a few days left to get a deal done.

This is going to be the issue with all star RB's going forward. Teams won't pay these guys good money but also want the world in return for them. Eventually they'll have to figure out that that's not how value works and will start accepting lower trade offers, or just keep the player on the roster and wait him out

Does that make it a "done deal"?
