Colts give Jonathan Taylor permission to be Traded

Too much, no way they offer 2 2nds unless we are getting a 3rd back this year or next.

IMO Taylor is worth two late 2nds all day, if it includes a Wilson salary dump.

Not every 2nd rounder is going to be Jevon Holland or X. Far more likely they end up being a Gesicki or Eichenberg.

Taylor is a proven elite player.

If the front office was content with our current Rb's we wouldn't be making trade offers to other teams.
They know what star power can do for this team.JT is a star plain and simple.
I agree he’s a star, but historically star RBs don’t get teams to the Super Bowl, at least not by rushing for a ton of yards. I’m almost more excited about what adding a player like Taylor would do for unleashing Tua.

Reality of it is, it'd be a long run mistake to improve our odds on the short term. There's absolutely some value in it but you also cant afford to stack too much of these mistakes and expect long term success... For example, if the Fins do pull the trigger, and also extend Wilkins to a huge cap number and he doesn't improve his pass rushing output... You're left allocating a decent % of your cap for 2 positions that don't move the needle all that much when it comes to winning football games.

This is why I wouldn't be all that upset if Wilkins was part of the deal... It would edge the bet somewhat.

The point here is that we don’t need the star RB to “get” us to a Super Bowl. JT would simply be a piece of an overwhelming offense. Another layer to cause issues for opposing defenses.

I for one think 2 seconds is too rich
I agree. That is why I stated I wouldn’t give up 2 second round picks for Taylor. I also don’t believe Irsay really wants to trade Taylor and that is likely why he is is holding out for at least a first round pick and likely other picks or players.

I actually think they are content going into the season with the running backs they have on the team now. That is why they didn’t overpay to sign Cook.

I think they would have gone into the 2022 season with the WR’s they had on their roster but once they had the opportunity to trade for Hill they took that opportunity.

Their interest in Taylor is similar to what they saw when Hill became available. They see a top 5 RB who might be available and that would upgrade their RB room. They have given the Colts an offer and so far the Colts don’t think the offer is enough to complete a trade.

I think they would obviously like to add one of the best RB’s in the game to their roster but I also don’t think they want to cave In to the demands of the Colts. Grier may continue talk to the Colts to work out a trade but if he thinks their trade demands continue to be too high, he will just go with the RB’s now on the team and be happy with those players.
