Colts give Jonathan Taylor permission to be Traded

You want to beat Mahomes by scoring fewer points?

By running the ball more and passing less?

Playing that way on purpose considering the rules being what they are is beyond foolish.

You are literally leaving points on the field.

You would need to play a near perfect game and catch the breaks to win that way and you would have to do it 3 or 4 times in a row.

That does not seem like the strategy to bet on coming up good for you consistently. Sure you would beat all the bad teams that way but you aren't winning titles.

The case for building an incredible defense to stop Mahomes would make more sense, it would still be wrong but it would make more sense.

Now it would be that in this day and age you have to have mahomes(or one of the 2-3 guys on his level)to win championships and that is just the way it is.

In that case you should be using you ammo to try to find the next great QB and hope to be smart/lucky in that endeavor.

So your plan is to out dual maybe the most talented qb of all time? Smart….And if that doesn’t work then simply use resources to draft the next great qb because it’s just that simple to land a once in a generation talent….

Or hear me out, the way you beat a better qb is by keeping them off the field and not letting them get into rhythm while allowing the defense to rest and so they actually stand a chance at stopping them rather than get winded because you want to air it out and either score fast or quickly get a 3 and out.

When you start making posts that are nothing but insults like this one, I know I'm starting to get through to you. Because you know I'm right.

Trading for Taylor is short sighted and irresponsible. I'm glad you agree with me. Now we just need to get the other 7,000 fans on here to understand this and the quarter of a million Dolphin fans on Twitter and were getting somewhere.

Being easily triggered by a certain GM speaks volumes to your credibility.

Everyone is talking about Taylor putting Miami over the top and winning a SB so it is not misleading.

No one would argue that adding Taylor doesn't make the team better. Of course he is an upgrade over what they have, the point is upgrading that position is very unlikely to make a Championship difference.
IMO having a strong running game would be a huge factor in our level of success this season.

Becides our GM the only GM that I can think of that triggers me is Howie Roseman, what he does with the Eagles roster is amazing. That DT Carter they just drafted looks like he's gonna be a monster. He always has a great Oline too, Roseman is the best GM in football right now and it's not even close.

And? Running backs of Taylor’s ilk aren’t capable of giving a team a push that might get them there? It’s just a ridiculous stance. Because those teams prioritized their passing game doesn’t mean that a talent like JT couldn’t make a huge impact and help propel a would be playoff team to a Super Bowl champ. Give our passing game to the Titans over the last half decade and they’d have a full trophy chest when combined with Henry.

You admit Grier triggers you. Hilarious.

The only people that would have this kind of information is Grier, McDaniel, and maybe Ross. Do anyone honestly believe this guy has an in with any of these guys or is he making things up?
That's not true. Reality is that many people are involved. People in finance and medical depts., agents, secretaries, assts. are just a few examples. When I was involved and lived in the area, I had contacts who gave me scoops. Even on this board we had a poster who knew about the Tyreek trade well before it became national news.

one thing to consider here is, would McDaniel use Taylor enough to make the trade worth it? Yes having Taylor should help Hill and Waddle but would they be ok with a lesser role if we start running the football more? Not saying that'd be the case but you have to wonder how the dynamic would work.
I expect this team to run considerably more whether we get JT or not.

On a somewhat similar note, this preseason Miami's been showcasing its effectiveness getting to the edge in the running game.

With the success this team had in the middle of the field last year, that gives teams a lot to think about. And a lot to stop.

Taylor is certainly an upgrade over any back on the roster, but the Dolphins have backs who can exploit the edges.

I think where he might be most valuable is in getting those tough yards and wearing defenses down late in games.

The question becomes whether it's the right move. Apparently, Miami is prepared to make it if there is an offer on the table.

Hey Travis,
Thanks for info. I’ve been a dolphin fan my entire life since the Early 90s when Marino was slinging it. But I haven’t followed tweets or podcasts untill I started watching Reason and TD on YouTube so I don’t really know much. Lately I’ve been getting most of my info from here and then so I really don’t know what could be true. Just seemed like Neal was a nice enough dude not to lie. Either way our Fins are going to be the truth this year. I’m super excited!

You're much too nice and level headed to be posting here.

How many expensive running backs did Brady have in his 20 year run with NE? He had guys like White making around league minimum running the ball. He didn't have a Christan McCaffery size contract in the back field ever.

Cory Dillon says sup.

Remember when Brady needed help?
