Colts give Jonathan Taylor permission to be Traded

If this is still correct, if a player retires he can play for another team 1 year after retitement.

SO: If i am taylor i put in my retirement papers to irsay, sit a year out giving his body a rest from a season long pounding and then sign with dolphins (if they are his choice) at a well rested 25yrs old. Totally sticking it to irsay the town drunk!!

Yes?

As a guy who used to live in the Poconos and frequently go into NJ, the cost benefit is real. You always, always fill up in Jersey.

But are you going in NJ anyways? Otherwise saving 30c per gallon doesn't matter with the added miles.

The problem with your scenario is if he puts in his retirement papers he doesn’t get paid and therefore he wouldn’t be credited with another year in the NFL.

Since he is presently under contract with the Colts. If he retired this season, he would not become a free agent if he decides to return to the NFL next season. He would still be under contract to the Colts unless they decide to trade or cut him once he comes out of retirement.

So basically retiring really doesn’t benefit Taylor at all if he is just trying to “stick’“ it to Irsay. He actually would be better off if the Colts put him on IR for the entire season if the Colts refuse the trade him. That way he would be paid his full salary and also get credit for the entire year. Then he would be a free agent after the 2023 season is over unless the Colts franchise him for the 2024 season.

I love Rico. We battled in FHMM this year. I had to take him off ignore so it would work. Nut i gained quite an appreciation of our resident Chad.

I didn’t make the connection as I refer to him as Rico.
I call him the Chad. Lol

The Taylor trade will be announced within the next 15 minutes.

...I don't know anything - I'm just stepping out for a few to secure my garbage cans because of Idalia. It'll happen immediately at that point.
Good luck. They made a big deal about Hilary, but not only did it make a minimal impact here, but my baby sister in LA said it was nothing too.

I worked in Stroudsburg. Closest gas in Jersey was 10 miles away. Toll coming back was $1.00. I have a 37 gallon tank.

Trust me, the math works out.

Well, looks like getting taylor at least for this year is gone with the wind. But i think taylor must not like whats happening with irsay and now has driven a much bigger divide between him and him and irsay. I dont think taylor plays another down for the colts unless he wasted his contract money and is not real liquid at this point. Then he would cavem

Oh well. The season is here. We have very good squad and our rb room doesnt suck at all. I am rooting for your team to win it all this year. Best of luck!!!

😁

I seriously don’t understand what the Colts are doing. Jonathan Taylor for 13 games is less valuable as an asset than Jonathan Taylor for 17 games. There’s no way they’re going to get a better offer by the trade deadline. And now you’re putting his medical on blast essentially.

And Jonathan Taylor needs to hire a new agent….. he played this terribly wrong. The Colts can put Taylor on IR for the entire season and he’d still owe them 1 remaining season before he can become an FA. I just can’t see him suiting up for the Colts this season.

This really isn’t over. It’s going to linger over until the trade deadline and we are probably going to stay involved. Barry alluded to that.

Everyone took an L here aside from Grier. He made a fair offer and stood his ground. Refused to bid against himself. Obviously the “second team” was Jim Irsay himself — that ignorant coke head bitch.

May this thread live on!!
The part in bold isn't accurate. IR counts for accrued season, as does PUP. All Taylor has to do now is play 2 games or be on IR after the 4 weeks and he will be an UFA next year. Now if they were to use a tag on him for 13mm that's a different story....

I trust math.

Assuming 20 mpg, you might save $2.50 with all that time an effort. Standardized depreciation is almost double that and a 37 gallon tank vehicle probably isn't standard.

Maybe it used to work out with a wider spread and cheaper gas. Or a modified Prius.
