Colts signed ILB D'Qwell Jackson to a four-year, $22 million contract.

Good. Didn't think he was a fit for our defense anyway. Signing him and moving Ellerbe to WLB and Wheeler to SLB would have been more disastrous then last years display of crappy linebacking.

A free agent will sign with the team that offers him the best deal.

Agree, and he got paid roughly the same as both at 31 and not playing well last year. It's where the market is.

We need to draft a LB that can actually tackle somebody but we'll probably have to wait till the last day of the draft. Oline first and then DT,RB,TE and Safety along with LB are all needs.

Ozzy rules!!

The Colts GM is one of the worst out there. Traded a 2nd rounder for Vontae, who's going to hit unrestricted free agency. Traded a 1st for Trent Richardson, who is terrible. Now overpaying for a 31 year old will linebacker. Yikes.

Fortunately for Colts fans they have Luck. When you have a great young QB, you have margin for error.

Way too much money already tied up in LB this year. I hope they stand pat and draft potential to take spots later on. Expect Wheeler and Ellerbee to improve upon last year with more time in the system and Misi is Misi. Bigger needs because there are no guys to play certain positions. LT, RT, LG, RG, FS, DT need to be addressed before we rush to LB. Probably need to address RB and CB2 before we tie up more money at LB.

wow glad we didnt match that

let's draft some leaders and I would love to see a quality LB prospect taken early.

There is not much out there at LB in FA. Dansby had the best year but is 32. The best of the rest are Pats Brandon Spikes (26), Buff's Arthur Moats (26), and OLB Dakota Watson (26) from TB. None are full time players so far, and will not cost a lot.

Benefit of being financially set like D’Qwell: You can choose a team based on where you want to be. I'm told he turned down more elsewhere

*If true, hmmm I wonder who that was?? It's either Tennessee or us, I know who I'd guess

Our locker room crap this year, is directly responsible for us not sealing the deal on quality ***ents. That mess is going to hurt us all this year. :bricks:

Do you really believe we are going to sign every player that comes for a visit? I would bet 99% of free agents could care less about the locker room bonanza, they know what goes on in locker rooms. Players just want to see the cash.

Oh and by the way we just signed one of the most coveted free agent cornerbacks on the market and guess what, he knew what was going on in our locker room.
