Read the new commentary just posted on the front page where FinHeaven looks at what is really behind the boos of Chad Henne.

Do you agree? Disagree? What do you think?

Let Dolphin Nation hear your voice!

Its all relative I guess. But if you're going to make that kind of money, you better be prepared work under high stress conditions...

thats fine. you make some good points but in the end it is all about chad henne. this team was a solid afc contender in 2010. if u put a top 10 qb on this team last year they are in the playoffs and everyone who watched the games last year knows it. tony and jeff put a solid team of play makers on both sides of the ball. the dolphins were even 7-6 at one point of the season but feel apart because of bad play from chad henne. us fans are mad for that reason, if we only had a qb that could make plays, get the ball to the beast, and not turn the ball over we could be a winning club for years to come. people forget the players that they did pick up in the draft like long, langford, misi, davis and free agents like dansby, marshall, bush and bess. in the end the players have to play the coachs have to coach and we have to shut the #@$! up sometimes and let the team and henne get better......... GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I think clearly I pointed out many of the same things about Henne as you did. I just think we are not as solid on the rest of the team as you think. Especially on offense. As we sit right now we are putting our running game in the hands of Reggie Bush and a rookie in Thomas. Bush has has issues staying healthy and we have no idea what we have in Thomas. What if he is a bust? We have nothing behind him. I think the offensive line has been really average at the best...more less than average. The safety play has been horrible and we have no real talent at tight end. I do think we are putting together a strong defense and that is a great place to start. But fact is we had a great defense in the Zach and JT and Madison and Surtain days...but we didn't win a Super Bowl. It has to come on offense and since Marino left the only real star on offense we have had has been Ricky Williams.
The point of the article is that the fans are frustrated not at just Henne. They are changing for Orton not for Henne to hear it...but for the ownership and management to hear it.
Thanks for taking the time to read and comment. I think you have some good points, but we have been waiting for a legitimate contender for a looooooong time.

in sorry your wrong. you cant tell me henne didnt lose the detroit the 2nd bills game and the 2nd pats game. thats three games that if henne would have played better we would have won. thats 10-6. not to mention the 1st jet game monday night that with better play from henne we win. it is henne. it has been henne.and im tired of people saying we dont have a tight end. number 80 caught 7 tds in 2008 5 of witch ened up being game winners. you know why.... he had a qb that threw the seem. hell this team was 7-6 2 years ago and henne did some good thing but the d was not what it is now. im tierd of poeple saying its the moves of the front office, if thats your take then you aint watching the same games i am. mark my words if henne has a top 12 qb rating this season, we are playing in january and we have the same coach next year.

It seems you are not reading what I am writing. I repeatedly state, and have stated that Henne is not playing up to par. But how many deep passes did our safeties give up in blown coverage last year that cost us games? How many games could we have won if the OLine and running game could be a top 10 unit? We were ranked #21 in rushing offense and #25th in passing defense and #26 in rushing defense. Ironically, our passing offense was ranked #16. Which is better than any of the other areas I identified above. How many more games do we win if any of those are as you say "top 10 units?"

To be clear....my point is that the team is not good and its not JUST Henne. He deserves his share of criticism and I for one was hoping we would replace him. But once again the point of the article is that the fans booing reflects a frustration of poor team performance, and the failure of this team to secure playmakers over the past fifteen or so years ESPECIALLY at QB.

I think when you look at the stats we are showing we need to improve all around as a football team. The article reflects that the management has not done a good job of personnel and the fans are tired of losing and seeing us miss in the draft and Free Agency. It also reflects that this is amplified because the Miami Dolphins were the most competitive and dominant team in the division ofr 30 years and now we haven't been a serious threat for even an AFC title since the early 90's.

Thanks again for your comments. I dig the passion you bring to your words.

Obviously, you can pinpoint Henne in certain games. But you can say that about any player, on any team, in any game. If _______ threw a touchdown instead of an interception..... If _______ made that tackle instead of whiffing..... If _______ caught that interception instead of just letting it bounce off his hands.

Like fin-atic said, Henne didn't play up to par. Im not arguing that. But to imply that Henne lost the season for us, isnt an accurate statement. Henne is one player, out of 53 on the team. We had many chances to win games, but things just didn't go our way. You can even through in the Pittsburgh fiasco. Was that Henne's fault?

Also, I have to disagree with the comment about us not needing a TE. I don't mind Fasano, but he's just a possesion TE. He is a prototypical #2 TE, and nothing more. Yes, in 2008, he did have a solid year. However, Pennington was the QB. A QB that thrives off of the dink and dunk, short to intermediate passes. I thought that was what all of us fans were complaining about? i thought we wanted a more open passing games, with someone who wasn't afraid to throw the deep ball? I'll accept that statement when Fasano starts making plays like Antonio Gates.

RELAX! You have to learn to let things go. I remember losing to the Chargers in the playoffs with Dan leading the team. We were up 21 to 3 at halftime and I think we lost 24 to 27 or something like that. Anyway, I was angry for 5 months, but you just have to put the past in the past. Why boo Henne this year in training camp. Was it his fault our SP teams stunk? Was it his fault the refs screwed up the Steelers game? Was it his fault our DBs couldn't hang on to INTs? Was it his fault the OC pulled him out to run ill advised wildcat plays? Was it his fault that we were settling for FGs instead of TDs? How many times did we see him get a first down on 3rd and long after one or two dumb WC plays. It's his third year let's see what he can do. Favre, Brees, Warner and several others needed time to grow into the job. Heck, some "experts" think QBs need to sit for 2-3 years and learn the position. As far as caring us to Atlanta I would rather have our team. We have a ton of depth on both sides of the ball. Picking a QB is always a boom or bust gamble. We took the safe route. Atlanta took a shot and it worked. Where would they be if Ryan stunk? What if the lights come on for Henne this year with better talent and a better OC? That's what gets me fired up for the season. "If" Henne makes the jump and becomes a top ten QB and our defense is top 5,we are going to be tough to beat. How would we match up with Atlanta then? That what I don't get. Everybody should be supporting and rooting for Henne, because if he succeeds, we succeed.

But in the end, I actually blame the management of the Miami Dolphins. Yes and specifically Jeff Ireland, Wayne Huizenga, Bill Parcells and now Stephen Ross. The problem here is that the fans have had it with this team. Henne is just the recipient of years of frustration over blown drafts, poor free agency, and bad decisions by this team when it comes to delivering a competitive NFL product.

However, I do believe Henne is bad. Moving on...Coach Sparano is 100% going to defend his QB. Sparano has a job to do regardless of what fans think/say about the Miami Dolphins. And he has to defend his QB in the end. And Sparano may—and it certainly wouldn't surprise me—feel that Chad Henne is a terrible QB behind closed doors. But he has no choice in his position to defend Chad Henne. Unfortunately Sparano has already shown that he has NO BALLS by letting Ross dumptruck him in the offseason with the whole Harbaugh debacle. And at the end of the year, Sparano and Henne will have to fall on the knife.

I agree with Fin-atic 100%! When you have a relatively weak roster all over the field you start grasping for straws. When you have a team filled with play makers, when one misses a play another makes one. When one unit is over matched the other unit wins games. I am sure that Henne will never ever be a top 10 QB in the NFL, he simply doesn't have the talent. I am just as sure that Tom Brady or Peyton Manning could not win a Superbowl on this team. This team has a bare cupboard courtesy of years of bad drafts and free agent misses. This year once again, we lost more than we have gained. We are not almost there, I can't say for sure we are even headed in the right direction.

I agree 100% with you, what irritates us as a fan base is no one has really tried to replace Marino in his last few years with the team or since he has been gone. We have passed on the likes of Drew Brees, Arron Rodgers and Matt Ryan to name a few. I know that i am sick of the QB patchwork this team has been trying to sell its fans for years. I want them to at least make an attempt at finding another great QB and it fail instead of having to watch someone that you know cant lead you to the promise land. I fully believe that Tony will be fired and Nolan will be the new head coach unless Ross decides to totally clean house, but last i heard during the offseason viasco is that Ross likes Nolan and Ireland and they were a package deal for any new coach.

The boos reflect the frustration with the Dolphins not bringing in some QB's to at least compete, backup, or improve the QB position. They should have drafted at least one, and brought in at least one of the many available veteran free agents to compete with Henne. As it stands now, he is our only hope and he doesn't offer much of that.
