Commentary: Spielman gone; Now the new era can officially begin

Do you want me to pull up all my old, extremely in-depth mock drafts that I did on here???

I don't make long posts because I know people like to read stuff that is short and sweet. Not some 3 paragraph rant.

I scored a perfect on the English section of the ACT, I am in Mass comm. at LSU in the broadcast journalism department. I have written several features and have been entered into contests.

I've written articles about the Dolphins on several other sites in the past.
I've shown proffesionals my work and they loved it.

Should I go on??? YOU are the one that is WEAK, Ms. O'Donnell.

Hey, that's cool.... I'd like to read some of your stuff. Hey, it would be cool to have a 'guest columnist' section where fans can write articles and if they are good enough, they will be displayed.

There would be no room for other articles than mine.:D

You will definitely be able to. I will do a very in depth evaluation on the state of the team in late July/early August, and it will be posted on here. (You'll love it!)

Hey, I look forward to it. I love to do preseason write ups about the Dolphins. I wrote an NFL blog for the newpaper in my college town. It's so fun. I really think that it would be a great thing for this site to have a guest columnist section!

I'd love to see it, dude :D I always like to see what other fans have up their sleeves.

I don't know why Martel felt the need to call you out like that, DolphinDevil28, they should have at least waited until they read some of your stuff. But even then it was still pretty freakin rude.

In the current issue of Pro Football Weekly (June 2005) in the AUDIBLES section is an interesting comment regarding Rick Spielman. I know many people on this board trashed him every chance they got, but thiscomment is typical of how front office people view him. Unfortunately the link is down now, so I took the time to write it out for the DOLFANS. For those wondering where I personally stand, I felt he had a real good feel for talent and if given another year or two could or would have developed into a pretty good G.M.. Last year's trades, I believe were brought about due to organizational pressure not to his clamoring to make those trades. Nonetheless, it's Saban's team right now and if he wants him gone that's fine with me. This is a case where I wish Rick and his replacement all the best (his replacement a little more though)

"There are not many GMs who run wind sprints on the field before the game like (Miami's) Rick Spielman. He's a workout freak, always training for competitions. I think that perception is hurting him in the eyes of Nick Saban. Nick wants an evaluator in that role, not a frustrated athelete who still hasn't killled the itch. But he's a classy guy with great people skills. He's a good soldier who will pay the price to get better. I would hire him in a NewYork minute. If he gets squeezed out of Miami, he will land on his feet."

Man, this post is pathetic.

Look dude...you're a dick. Do not PM me with your crap. I was out. I actually have things to do on Friday nights. I really could care less if a professional writer told you were good. If you can't handle getting called out, then don't do it to others. I've seen you be a dick on numerous occasions.

And if you didn't notice Mr. Special, everyone and their ****ing mom did mock drafts......not such an exclusive club.

EDIT: My new favorite part is that you "have been entered into contests". That was good.

Funny you got ripped in this thread. I was thinking of commending you for the earlier references to the Crucible and McCarthyism. Not every 21 year old, even college educated, would be familiar with those references. Hell, I mention Joe McCarthy to people my age (early 40s) and they have no clue what I'm talking about.

One tiny thing for you to work on, if you're in communications and may pursue a job in a related field: a person is a WHO, not a THAT. As in your sentence, "YOU are the one that is weak, Ms. O'Donnell." I cringed at THAT one. It should be "who" is weak. Sorry, just a major pet peeve of mine as a print journalism grad. Admittedly, if I corrected everyone on it, orally and written, I would never have time for anything else.

And what's the O'Donnell reference? Maybe I'm missing something very basic. When I read O'Donnell I think of the babe newscaster Norah O'Donnell. An All-America brunette like Norah melts me every time. I have no idea what she's saying.

I think he was referring to the fact that Martel has Rosie O'Donnell in their avatar.

Oh jeez, no wonder I missed that. Must be automatic eye avoidance. I didn't notice until you pointed it out.

On the other hand, kingnate85, your avatar image is drool worthy. Actually dive worthy.

Well thank you, I think so too.

I honestly see Spielman as the least incompetent member of the last regime. That said regime change is in order but the guy did OK all things considered. I mean it was already a Superbowl or bust season for Wanny, and there was no long term plan in place.

How can you read the articles today and come up with the conclusion that RS did "OK" or was "the least incompetent" member of the regime?????

Some people favor denial, I guess. Look at the 2004 offseason and draft again. Wanny and RS were joined at the hip before '04 and the results were bad. Once Rick got a promo the results were far worse.

Wanny was bad but so was Spielman. Really bad
