i'd save all NFL betting till like week 5

no way... not me... i find the best success early in the season when vegas hasn't caught up to the summer's progress... the lines will TIGHTEN by week 5.... get the value now while you can...

yea and with 3 pushes it equals lost money... (iow: not good) :shakeno:

Anyone and I mean anyone could go 500 on football picks... :shakeno:

You go 500 and you STILL LOSE MONEY! :shakeno:

if you bet with a man who takes your money on pushes, you need to find a new man... :shakeno:

anyhow, as for going .500 and losing money... that's assuming you bet the same money each time, which no one does in their right mind... a player can go .500 on his picks and make a killing if he knows when to press, and when to hold back on amounts...

It's interesting, when I used to bet, I had all of my success early on and I felt like the books figured things out by week 5 and made it a lot tougher. It went like that 3 seasons straight, at which point I decided to stop betting.

St.Louis - 6 over San Fran
The 49ers are bad, I'm going to go against them a lot this year. So get used it.

 I chuckled when I saw the score of the San Fran game. Knowing they covered the spread and went over on the over/under, I knew a lot of people lost cash on that game.

We are just looking at his last years record. With the same logic you used, he could also largely be in the hole say he pushed a lot of cash on, lets say the Miami/NE game last year. 99% of betting people picked NE to cover that game.

Taking into account "juice", a .500 record to me also translates into lost money.

I happened to make good cash last year betting on my other team, the Eagles. They covered almost every game except the Chicago game that I bet on last year. I also hit 2 3-team parlay bets in the season and let a hundy run on the Eagles weekly.

Son,

I don't know about what goes on with your bookies down south but the bookies up north take the juice on pushes.. That's how bookies make their money, on the JUICE.

I don't know if you gamble much but I do know that it's not assuming the same monies each time it's that even if you "know" when to press your money high you can still lose, BIG. It's all good for me though because I don't gamble with money. Sure I'll take buisness risks but sports is too volitile.

Hey... 1-4 pro picks aint bad LMAO :shakeno::shakeno::shakeno::shakeno:

(BTW MIKEO, stick to college picks, it seems to be easier for you to figure out)

Can't wait to see what the "week 2 gambling corner" brings

That's the way to do it.. Take one team you have a good feeling with and roll with them through the whole season..
Possible Tip: Watch the Giants this year.

i did great this weekend. 5-1

Just saw this take -- Maybe you should move down South and save yourself some money if you ever decide to bet sports. There's not a bookie in Louisiana or Texas that takes juice off of a push.

Dude its a fun little column. Why are you looking to cause trouble? I know you HATE me and look to take any shots at me every chance you get but relax. You come off looking like you have a vendetta here.

If you don't like the column or me.....DON'T READ IT! Don't put up posts about it!!!!!!!

Grow up buddy!

At least my Heels covered the spread. They should have won though.

First off, Andy Reid, i'm not your "son"... so please don't take that liberty... :D

Next, like i said, if you bet with a man that takes juice pushes, you're getting screwed over... Time to shop around for a new man who's not a complete thief. They should be taking your money on losses that at least even out, not numbers that hit dead on. If they don't want that, they should set all their spreads at X.5.

Take your ticket to the window in Vegas, and you get your money back. Push=No action!

Third, of course you can lose big when you press. That's part of the skill of sports handicapping -- MONEY MANAGEMENT. Putting weights on your strongest to weakest plays means just as much as success rate.

They played tough. Surprised me I thought GT would roll over them. GT had a little let down after the Aubrun game.
