Commentary: Where do Ronnie and Ricky Stack Up?

Does this really count though???

2004 Falcons Warrick Dunn 1106 9
Michael Vick 902 3
T.J. Duckett 509 8

Ok Dunn and Duckett, but can you really count vick?

And I hope we utilize our backfield. It could be awesome, especially with our strong recieving corps, we can keep D's off balance.

Good article. The 72 Dolphins trio was amazing considering that was over 14 games AND we had Bob Griese.

Like I said in the article, there's little doubt that Vick is the best runner in Atlanta's backfield. I thought it would be silly to omit him. When a guy runs for that many yards, refusing to count him just because he takes snaps doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Your article is good. but you forgot about Gordon. The guy will get his playing time and yards too. It wouldn't surprise me to see him finish second in yards per game...

Thanks, but I didn't forget about Gordon; I don't think he's going to be a big factor this year. After the first four games, I don't think Gordon will get a lot of playing time.

Geez, Phil, that's some research. Nice job.

Thanks!

Muck gave me the idea, and a lot of the research was his; he came up with some RB groups I would have overlooked. So big ups to him, though he declined co-author credit, apparently. ;)

For those aspiring stat-heads out there who like this sort of thing, pro-football-reference.com has an excellent and easy to use stat database.

Yeah, I had the idea and did some research. But after you read the article, you can see why I gave it to Phil. He just takes things to another level. I couldn't have done anything nearly as informative or well-writen. Great job again!!

My name does show up at the bottom of the page though, where it belongs.

Wouldn't be great if Ronnie breaks the 1,000 yards mark, and Ricky gets 600? Of course counting Ricky is not traded after a couple of games in october.

The trading deadline is week 6. Ricky can't return until week 5. I don't think anyone will trade for him when he doesn't play many games.

Interesting note: As mentioned in another thread, Ricky will only be eligible for one game before the trading deadline expires.

You are so modest, Muck!

Phil, you had better watch out for this guy. I don't think being an admin is enough for him!

 ;)

...Hope he runs for 600 yards that game.
