Comparing The Top LT's in FA

we have a similar athlete to veldheer still in the building right now...will yeatman...it just sucks that the light bulb hasn't come on there enough yet or we'd have our left tackle for the long term...they are very similar physically...same good movement skills feet etc...benders...great size

Was the Yeatman injury more severe? I'm wondering if he is a candidate for IR, and wait another year?

We have been on the Yeatman experiment for like 3 years now.

From Laccross, to TE, to G, to OT.

Raiders have $65m, I think they will actually sign Veldeer before the 11th. Philbin wanted Albert last year and I just think that's who they will go after and probably land.

I think he wanted Albert because he was the only good tackle available. A lot more options this year. Will be interesting to see who they value most

I hope you don't mind. I made a chart using the data you provided. I am analytically challenged... :-)

With the franchise tag over and done there are four LT's who appear to be hitting FA in a week. A closer look.

Eugene Monroe (26)- 801 snaps with Balt, #10 LT overall, pass block grade of 14.5, screen block grade of 0, run grade of 6.1, gave up 4 sacks, 3 hits, and 17 hurries, had 4 penalties with 2 accepted.

Jared Veldeer (26)- 1111 snaps in 2012. #10 LT, pass grade- 11.3, screen- 2.0, run- 5.1, gave up 6 sacks, 7 hits, and 22 hurries, had 5 penalties with 2 accepted.

Brandon Albert (29)- 800 snaps, #17 LT, pass grade- 14.4, screen- -0.5, run -2.4, gave up 4 sacks, 6 hits, and 13 huries, had 9 penalties with 0 accepted.

Anthony Collins (28)- 592 snaps, #15 LT, pass grade- 12.8, 0.5 on screens, run -2.3, gave up 0 sacks, 0 hits, and 17 hurries. had 1 penalty with 0 accepted.

Monroe is the clear #1 choice here as a complete LT and only 26. I'm guessing that he gets $9M a year, maybe more.

Veldeer would be at least his equal if not for the injury last year but, is still only 26. Hard to even guess what he will get, maybe around #7M or, maybe a 1 year deal.

Albert has injury problems, and is not VG on the run but, is VG is pass protect. I Think he wants $9-10M a year, which I would not pay.

Collins has to be judged on a half a year's work, although VG, and is 28. I don't know his value but to put a number would guess around $6M.

Could be, I would rather have Monroe over Albert.

I'd like Monroe first and Collins 2nd......I'd not be surprised if we don't get any of the 4. .....might not be as easy of you all think to land one of them. After the Grimes contract, what's our cap Keep on mind that we have no DT's other than Odrick so if don't bring one back we'd still probably nee to get one in free agency from another team which will cost some.

Ozzy rules!!

Good news for Miami, but may have to overpay RT @mzenitz Per source, Ravens and Eugene Monroe remain "nowhere close" to getting a deal done

As others have said, this may mean that Monroe is asking for SKY HIGH money.

Maybe Top LT money. Not sure he is worth that.

If he is asking Joe Thomas money 7/$12/$28 Guaranteed thats just laughable.

Albert's pass grade should be a positive number, not a negative one.

Thanks! Fixed. There is a dash after the word "grade", so I thought it belonged with the number. There are a few others that look the same, so I am guessing my table is totally screwed up because I can't tell what is supposed to be a negative or not. Oh well, sorry about that. I tried. :-)

Not at all. If I knew how, I would do the same on a number of threads and posts. It's sooo much easier to read and compare.

My mistake. All the pass grades are positives, as well as Jared's run block. Everything else is perfect. Well done.

The raiders have over $60MM in cap space, uncertainties at Rb and likely a rookie or second year QB. There's no way they allow Valdheer to walk.

I'd actually prefer him over Monroe with monies being close

Rumors are they really like Greg Robinson and are planning on taking one of the top 3 LTs in the draft...hoping Robinson drops to them. Don't ask me why...it's the Raiders.
