Also I find myself in a different dilemma. When revis picked it I just laughed. Then I was mad about the non PI call but when do we ever get that call? Its not worth getting mad. I'm just letting things fall and laughing when things go to hell.

What we really need is a distraction. Maybe B ball will start soon and the boys from South beach will get all the press. And a bunch of wins to ease the pain a little.

Back in the day I had season tickets to both the Fins and Heat, Always went to the Dolphin game and usually gave the Heat tickets away to my employees except for when Jordan was in town.
Now it would be the other way around.
Winning is so much more fun than losing or rooting to lose to get a certain player.

Enjoy mediocrity. Ryan Leaf was a failure because HE DIDN'T CARE. He did drugs, he skipped meetings, he lied about injuries to play golf, he fought with his teammates and coaches. Russell was another dumb@$$. Luck is not. You take a CHANCE on Luck because he has the ability! There's a chance he won't live up to it, but there is an even better chance he will. I've watched Luck play and watched him in interviews.

And by your theory, then I guess we should NEVER draft another QB in the first round (last one was Marino in 1983). Let's just keep playing with Matt Moore's, Cleo Lemon's, and Joey Harrington's! 6-10 for life Go Dolphins wooo! Good thing your not the GM.

This franchise has been a joke since 2004 and hasn't been relevant since Marino. But please, go ahead and continue to want this team to be a joke in 2012 and beyond...

I see this a lot on message boards....different people post differing opinions, but since you read them all at the same place you think that all people share both opinions...it could be the same 5 people yelling S4L and the same 5 people saying Fire Sparano...and those be 10 different people.

well, I'm not a Dolphins fan, but if I were I would be hoping for the first pick....I'm a Bucs fan, and if we had a bad season, I want the best draft pick possible.

well hears the thing. im not actually rooting vs the fins, i just really dont get upset for like a few days when they lose- or a week depending how bad the loss is anymore this year because i am numbed to it.

that being said, in reference to your being able to live with 5-11 and 6th pick? in every other year? sure, why not, the difference in talent from the 1st -6th overall pick is usually not that significant. However, Andrew luck is way above everyone else, and the only way we are getting this guy is with the 1st overall pick. so yes, in many years i could live with the 6th pick and 5-11. this year? hell no. luck or bust.

i wish we could be talking playoffs now in week 7, but unfortunately, this seem just decides to blow every year so this is what we have to talk about.

I remember the hype when Reggie Bush got drafted. Reality...no one knows.

"Suck for Luck" confuses me - almost as much as some of the decisions the Miami Dolphins are making on game day. But, game day isn't the discussion - it's this desire to see the team be horrible, for a chance at getting a quarterback not guaranteed to be available when Miami is on the draft clock.
And, I'm not talking about the typical, "If you're a fan, how can you root for your team to lose," argument. Personally, I will never root for the Dolphins to lose. I can't do it. I want them to win ever single week. Do I know that they are a bad team, and do I want to see them get a good draft pick? Sure. But, I'm not able to root for a loss. Can't do it. But, I understand if that's where you are in support of this team.
But, I'm still confused. I'm confused by the reactions on the site. Here we are, with what seems like the majority screaming how they want to see Miami lose every game, then get angry when Miami loses. I don't understand the hate of the team, when they are doing what you want them to do.

Everyone seems to think head coach Tony Sparano is the best man to "Suck for Luck," then we call for his firing every single day. If he's great for the cause everyone seems to want, why the repeated and incessant demand to see him gone?
Now, we've reached the NFL trade deadline, and the demand that the Dolphins trade all their players is all over. We want the Dolphins to gut the team. Because, if the Dolphins are able to land Luck, having absolutely no one around him will make the team so much better.
I understand we are all frustrated and angry. But I don't understand how the "Suck for Luck" campaign people are angry when we do suck. Maybe it's just me, but you can't have it both ways, right? If you suck, you suck. If you want the team to suck, and they do suck, you're happy and getting what you want, right?
I don't want to sound like I am telling anyone how to root for the Dolphins. I don't want to sound like I am telling one side of the argument or the other they are right or wrong. I'm trying to understand why we have "Suck for Luck" posts, immediately followed, many times by the same author, complaining that the team sucks. Can you explain it?

heres the thing about SFL though... this team sucks regardless of whether the fans want them to or not.
it's hard to comprehend how this team actually practices week in and week out, and than goes out on gameday and performs the way they do.
to me, I don't have to hope the team sucks so we can get andrew luck, the team sucks all on their own.

So that's what the suck for luck thing is. Rooting to lose every game and get the 1st pick. I have trouble doing it.
If we had Josh Freeman we'd be sucking for someone else :hump:
But we have not had a great QB since Marino.
