Dolphin fans,

You guys picked up a great player in Wes Welker. I'm sure you have heard this before, but you will probably hear it about 5000 more times from Tech fans. Wes was a huge fan favorite, and wherever he goes, Tech fans will follow.

I made a Wes Welker tribute and have it posted on my site if you guys are interested. Here is the link:

http://www.wildraiders.com/videos.htm

Click on the video titled "Wes Welker Highlight Video" under Football 2003. I think you guys will be impressed. Also, check out the 2002 A&M game if you want to see him single handidly bring us back from 17 down in the 4th quarter against Texas A&M. Wes is a warrior and will give the Dolphins 110% on every play.

Couple of his moves made me think of dante hall. I'm not saying he's going to be anywhere close to being as good as hall, just that he made me think of him.
I wouldnt go that far lol... ;)

Dante has sprinter spead all the time... his cuts, spins... etc etc

Wes looks slow when he makes cuts and spins, but he makes up for it with his burst of speed.

No matter what I can't wait to see Wes out there. I will be cheering him on! We need to find other ways to score since our offense can't right now.

Damn, He had quiete a few returns for TD's. I don't know why everyone was acting like he wasn't fast , he looked pretty damn fast to me. I thought for sure he was gonna get tackled on the last couple run backs and he just kicked it into high gear and left em. I suppose the most important thing though is he can hold on to the frickin ball ! I actually liked Lamont B though, I thought we should of gave him another chance. I mean, everyone else with the ball screwed up that game, he was just trying to fit in. Who knows , maybe this guy can do something special for us and Brightful's bad game was a blessing in disguise.

Oh yeah, excellent highlight reel, very well put together. Thank you

Had you bothered to answer the question the first time I asked you, I would not have brought it up again but, your disappearance when I initally asked, and your constant negativity, along with the big sign saying I'm a fake fan drew my interest and I made it a point to find out what it was all about.

BTW, Boomer didn't call you a fake fan....he said you're not a real fan....it's right there in your sig.

apologies for not seeing the first time you asked.... when was this? forgive me as i don't spend all day on here and rarely read replies to comments i've made in threads. I only post when i see a subject line of interest.

And you are correct, Boomer said i was not a "real fan"... opposite of real being fake, hence my moniker.

As far as my "negativity", i will respectfully disagree with that opinion and call it "realism." Make no mistake i AM a dolphins fan, just not the one who thinks every acquisition is going to be the next Marino, Clayton, etc.... Our offseason proves this... all the bandwagons and people saying "so-and-so is our answer!" "we will be unstoppable!" i was cautiously optimistic. see my point?

if not maybe we can just agree to disagree. ;)

It was a long time ago....probably about a month now....

as far as negativity goes....I know a lot of people on here that are realists.....they are the ones that sometimes get excited about things and sometimes are critical of things......I have yet to see you anything but critical....

So, I guess we'll HAVE TO agree to disagree.

A lot of players come into the NFL with impressive stats and films. It doesnt necessarily translate into success in the NFL.But beggars cant be choosers so I guess we are lucky to get him at this stage of the game

BTW was he drafted by the Chargers or was he a FA?.

Off topic but, your sig has got me curious.....why is spiderman dancing with a transformer and the king of Siam??

that thing practically mesmerizes me everytime I see it.....is there some sort of subliminal thing going on or is it just me wanting to see that panty shot over and over again...

Man great Site and vids, thanks for the thread Junior, I guess it would be prudent to say, if it has not been said before, another good aquisition by RS.

Wes was a free agent. Seems like he is always the last guy to earn a spot on the team. Wes played for a very small high school in Oklahoma City and put up ridiculous numbers. He was not heavily recruited and was going to walk on at OU or OSU.

Texas Tech was holding their last scholie for Lenny Walls, a safety. When Lenny decided to go to Boston College (where his twin brother played basketball), Tech offered Welker a ship. Wes signed with Tech more than a week after the signing day, and began making an impact his true freshman year on the field. This kid is awesome. Pure heart and determination.

Good video, thanks. The kid seems to display great instincts, and was as fast as he needed to be. Nice how clean he caught hte ball. Recieving he reminded me of Wayne Chrebet for some reason...but yes, I liked what I saw. Tim Dwight was injured and when he returned to resume KR/PR duties they cut this kid.

p.s. Maybe CK can frame by frame his returns to calculate how fast the kid is running...like with the passes?
