Through out the years, I have often wondered if there was a conspiracy in the NFL.. Kinda like Pro Wrestling is.. I have always wanted to believe that all the games and all the plays are on the up n up.. but several times I just had to scratch my head..

Tonight is no different.. How in the world can the Miami Dolphins dominate the game like they did in the 1st quarter only to get their butts handed to them like they did? How can Marshall drop a TD pass like he did tonight? Why wasnt Revis flagged for holding or pass interference on that 3rd down pass to Marshall? How can Moore miss a wide open Clay in the end zone and Hillard in the flat? How can the Dolphins defense hold NY to zero first downs in their first 4 possessions and then not be able to stop them later on? and finally.. How can Coach Nolan allow his defense to play this poorly?

I dont know man, I'm not one to jump on the tin fold hat parade... but sometimes I have to ask just what exactly is going on here..

It's not a conspiracy, they're just a bunch of losers. They're a bunch of gutless ****ing losers being managed by an incompetent meatball coach who is in way over his head.

I'm sorry dude, I wish that wasn't the case. I wish we were cheering for a great team full of clutch guys being run by sober, intelligent people.

But we're not.

You actually think football is like pro wrestling?

I really hope that's not the case, because that would indicate some bad things
about your thought process.

No...All this is, is one team (Miami) simply not being good enough to beat
the other team. It happens. As someone once said in college football
"Hey...Those kids on the other sideline are on scholorship too."

In the case of this team, we lack leadership in the locker room, QB position and the
HC's office. With leadership, all the poor tackling, poor gameplanning,
poor effort, missing wiiiiiiide open receivers, etc will come together. We'll be
set for a big rebound next year IMO.

At least in the 1-15 season Cleo Lemon and the gang played with some kinda heart...this team looks worse, and the thing about it is we're severely more talented than that team was....

They're just tanking it.

No their not. I can guess from this statement that you've never been part of an athletic program of any sort. As hard as those guys work, and as competitive as they are, no team ever wants to lose a game. That's asinine. This is a job for these people; and in this line of work, more than any other, you can't be bad at your job and hope to keep it. Even if they've lost faith in Sparano, or their chances this season, they know that every time they walk on to the field they're auditioning; if not for a roster spot here next year, somewhere else.

Total horse ****.

Some of you are going over board on the critique of the OP's comment.

LOOK, if its bet on in Vegas, ANYTHING is possible. Not saying its WWF or anything close to that, but to believe that beyond a shadow of a doubt its always fair and square because sports institutions are Holy things is naive at best.

If you believe that everything is always 100% on the up and up in this league (or any other sport for that matter) I've got some PRIME land for sale here in FLA for you, just send me the money, I'll send you the deed........

.....really I will.

I would agree with you 100%...but....WHY did Marshall run out of bounds with NOBODY anywhere near him? I have never seen that in a lot of years watching the NFL.

Dude was off-balance, he didn't intentionally do it. No conspiracy.

The "no athlete ever wants to lose" thing is a pile of crock. Yeah, if you're on a high school team. Or a college team. Most of these guys quickly figure out they get paid regardless of how the team does. And they quickly figure out competing for a championship depends on a lot more than their own effort. And they quickly figure out they are entertainers just as much as they are athletes. As soon as players start figuring out their team doesn't have much of a chance and "being the best" or "being world champions" or "achieving something great" isn't realistic, they go into cruise control. And they still get paid.

Our coaching staff doesn't make good adjustments in-game, and our players know it. Our best shot was to go up on the Jets early and hang on after they figured out how to exploit our weaknesses. But instead of 14-0 it's 6-0 and the whole team played like they knew they were in trouble.

You mean like 10/24/10 when there was no chance in hell (wrestling reference) the Steelers would lose Benny's 1st game back?
