Cortland Finnegan Mic'd up

Really some of you guys are fools if you have anything negative to say about his personality. He is no "THUG"/ Punk/ Showoff or anything else people TRY to use to explain a confident intense football player with swag. The dude is one of the NICEST people you could ever meet. He just plays balls to the wall and that is something we need in Miami. You guys cant tell what Hickey is doing? he brought in 2 hitters because our secondary was S-O-F-T

Also to the negative views on him, keep in mind we got Coyle runnin the show. I have faith he's going to be coaching these DB's good.

Finnegan said it himself too on his Finsiders interview, he was bringing a "modified" intensity to the field now, and that he's aware he doesn't want to hurt his team too much.
That's much better than him saying something like "I don't care how many penalties I get, I'll just keep doing what I do" a la Ndamukong Suh or someone like that.

Yeah I bet you one thing hickey and Philbin saw in most our games is lack of energy desire and fire. Especially the last few games of the season when we could sniff the playoffs and guys out acting like its preseason.

I hate to continue to be negative, but I don't understand why we have signed two penalty machines in our secondary...

FWIW, his highlights over the last 2 years were only having 2 penalties each season, and none that counted by off set or not accepted.

I'm thinking that Finnegan brought a keg of Guinness and a few bottles of Irish whiskey to negotiations, as well as having Saint Patrick watching over him.

I have not seen him play much over the last 2 years. Last year, he got hurt and only played 367 snaps. PFF ranked him #109 of 110 CB's. Don't like PFF? NFL ranked him 1 spot higher at #108.

In 2012, Pff ranked him at #86, and NFL at #70. Top that off with being 30, an $11M 2 year deal, and many other CB options available. I have no idea why we made this deal but, would have loved to have been at the Irish party it had to take to get this done. lol

I like the intensity he brings, we need a few guys with this personality on the team, we all saw the lack of fire on this team last year. Who cares if he talks **** to guys when he's on the field? He brings the intensity this team desperately needs.

Love the intensity, passion, and fun nature of this player. Welcome to the Fins Finnegan!

Come on man. Give the guy a chance.

He's been in the league long enough. I know the type of player he is. He's the Hines Ward of defense. Him being on my team isn't going to make me automatically like him.

This is a bad thing?

You may not like him but he's not a look at me player and to be honest our team lacks the swag he brings. Too many times they look as if they are just going through the motions.

He was the definition of a look at me player in Tennessee. This revisionist history because he's signed to our team is absolutely ridiculous.

He's a dirty player. If you want to become as annoying as Steeler fans when defending him, be my guest. As for me (and the rest of the league), we'll continue hating Cortland Finnegan.

If you think Hines Ward was a dirty player then it's obvious that your definition of a dirty player and mine are very different.

There are two kinds of people in the world that don't think Hines Ward is a dirty player. Hines Ward and Steelers Fans. I don't see you wearing number 86 so here you go: http://forums.steelersfever.com/

I like him, if he's 75% of what he was a year ago look out - that said I'm hoping Jamar Taylor is ready to start opposite Grimes and we use Finnegan in the slot

This would be the perfect situation for us, Finnegan is at his best in the slot position.
