Could Pouncey really be serving a suspension?

I like conspiracy theories but this one doesn't hold any weight.

For pot and booze yes.. but for knocking your future wife out in a fit of rage in an elevator, not so much.
 
Now if you want to turn it into a conspiracy I would go with: Miami thought Pouncey was going to be suspended for four games so they said since you're going to miss the first four games anyway why don't you have your hip surgery now and you can spend those four weeks recovering. Meanwhile the NFL saw what was going on and said since Pouncey's out for the first five or six weeks anyway there's no need to put the bully issue back in the public by announcing a meaningless suspension and just dropped the issue.

In reality I don't think Pouncey or Jerry were going to be suspended and if they would have been suspended for four games I would be outraged seeing that Ray Rice only got a two game suspension for knocking out his wife and dragging her out the elevator.

This reminds me of the old theory that David Stern suspended Michael Jordan quietly and so Jordan played baseball while under suspension.

I don't understand these conspiracy theories. The point of a suspension is discipline. At the end of the day, the fan base (customers) want a league that is credible, and so the customers want disciplinary action. It wouldn't make sense to hand down suspensions without telling the customer base. Otherwise, what is to gain from the discipline.

I doubt he had surgery too. I heard Pouncey was just having a ghost pain...that feeling that one twin gets when the other twin is hurt. He is just feeling his brothers ACL injury....but in his hip.

The rumor was he was pulling a Pete Rose and betting on basketball including some games he played in. But Stern didn't want to lost the face of basetball so the whole baseball thing came about.

This. Goodell would probably relish a chance to make an example of someone like the Pouncey Twins, more fuel for his International League of Politically Correct HandEgg
