Beal at this moment is only a successor in a transition part with the first right. He still has to be approved by the owners when he would choose to become the owner. The only approval from the NFL is the succession plan which puts Beal in a managerial position (more like a trust fund type).

Geez. I am about to turn 47 and look like I am 35. He is 48 and looks like he is into his 60's. That is a rough looking 48.

Clearly you have no idea how stressful it is to be rich.

I miss Wayne Huizenga more and more as the years go by. A guy that really loved FL and had all of his business based out of FL. He never got an SB, but he certainly got us in a position to make a run for one more consistently than Ross. I never doubted that his #1 goal was to produce a winning team, can't say the same for Ross unfortunately.

Maybe Jeff Bezos can buy the Dolphins, and then buy and sell players on Amazon.

Beal is the successor to Stephen Ross. He is also Chairman of Ross' business, the Related Group of companies. Ross has set a clear and obvious succession plan. There is zero prospect of Ross passing it onto his wife and children - the succession plan is set and it is his close friend and business partner who happens to be around 30 years younger.
What is significant is that Bruce Beal was clearly involved in signing off in agreement with this coaching appointment. This was not the case last time when Gase was appointed or the time before when old Joe Philbin was appointed - no Beal in the picture either time.
I have a question coming out of this. Is the NFL franchise held by Stephen Ross or by the Related Group of companies? I presume that it is Ross but who owns the stadium? Is it owned by the business? Who employs the players, coaches and Dolphins executives? Ross or the Related Group of companies?

The Miami Dolphins are the Miami Dolphins Ltd which is owned (sole partner) by South Florida Football Associates LLC which is a NY based but registered in Florida company. The main partner is Stephen Ross.

Hard Rock Stadium is owned by South Florida Stadium LLC of which Ross is Chairman.

I didn't know owners had to approve the sale of a team to a new owner. Why is this?

All you want in an owner these days is someone who has no trouble paying the bills and knows that he doesn't know all that much when it comes to building a team. After that it's 95% luck. We're not talking about the genius Robert Kraft and the "Patriot way" if they don't really luck out with a sixth round pick that even they didn't have a ton of expectations for at the time.
