Could Tony Dungy become new Dolphins czar?

I didn't -- and still don't -- think Dungy is inclined to say yes, but I do think that's what these leadership committees are about (which is what my thread was about). I think one of these guys is going to end up in some kind of Parcellian team president role.

I like Lovie Smith. I know things came to a hard landing in Chicago but look at the broader picture here of what he accomplished. It's impressive. Very similar to the John Fox situation.

Yes maybe not Dungy specifically but it was this thread that you created about the same time I was thinking along the same lines if maybe someone in the committee would be looked at in some other role at some point.

I don't see why Dungy would do it. He's got rings as a player and coach. These guys have it made in the booth. They are winners every week instead of risking half the time or less. Only the ultra competitive guys want to return.

Lovie Smith is a good coach who was fired. Sometimes that's not hard to evaluate, like Fox or Reid or Mora Jr.

Lovie always created turnovers and had impressive special teams. Those are two of the keys to stealing victories.

I like the idea of Dungy in a GM type tole. But I do not like the idea of Lovie Smith as a head coach. Sure he is a decent coach, but he is too nice. I want a coach that will get respect but also show that he is not gonna **** around when players are not playing up to their potential.

Not sure a new czar is an answer. Most teams in NFL have no need for such things and the last czar we had gave us morons like Sparano and Ireland

I believe that if someone in that committee is brought in to fill a "parcel's" type role it would probably lessen the penalties that might be coming regarding our current mess. Specially if its someone as well respected as Tony. Now, as far as JT filling that role....it might work, as long as a good general manager its brought in who can pick a good experienced coach (yes...someone like L. Smith). The truth of the matter is that some changes in this team leadership are surely coming.

That's what he's saying. Put JT in the John Elway role. Get a good GM in here but basically borrow JT's credibility and have him be the figurehead of the front office. That's why Dungy wouldn't be terrible for the role if we got a good GM in as well. He has plenty of good will and credibility to spare.

The way I read it was he was suggesting Taylor for GM
