Cowboys save $5.5 million by releasing C Andre Gurod

I would rather have Starks at tackle if he his nexk is OK. They should have left Incognito at center and put Pouncey at LG. Incognito blows people up in the middle, Pouncey wrestles with them andmore often then not, gets tossed. Yesh he bounces up and runs around, big deal. Does not change the fact when he goes against a 350 lb DT he gets blown up, bad. Rewatched that set of plays at the goal line from Sat. game. Pouncey was literally picked up and pushed aside like a rag dolll.

Still amazes me when some post he is explosive LOL. Yeah he moves, big deal but he cannot move the larger DTs at all, cannot even keep them at bay. People better watch whats really going on. Incognito has been helping Pouncey out on almost every single play with double teams. One on one, Pouncey moves no one unless they are smaller then him. We all know that is not reality these days. DTs are in the 350 to 375llb range. He can speak all the RA RA crapola he wants about learning the position and is ready, well, get ready to see him tossed around people regardless if he is at Center or guard.
 
If Gurode cannot play guard he is not coming here folks. they are notmoving all the positions around like many wish they would.

Totally agree. I think the whole football world thinks incogs is made for RG except for Sparano. You put a young buck like Pouncey where his strength is supposed to be his ability to pull next to Long and those 2 dominate for years together.

Yea but I agree, I normally wouldn't panic on ths OLine . . . but all the focus on Henne during the offseason, and the thing that hurt us the most last year is honestly the same thing hurting us now . . . the entire Oline to the right of Jake Long. You already decided to stick it out with Chad hoping a system change would help him . . . you can't stick it out with this oline looking like it looks now.

if its true the cowboys didn't want to pay him $5.5 mil over this year and next total i think he'll be had for a reasonable #...but the only thing that will really matter is any guaranteed money or signing bonus so whatever the #s are thats all we should care about...i bet he gets less than $5 mil guaranteed..wherever he goes
 
And this year is not uncapped, as per the CBA the cap is 120 million.

pouncey gets to the 2nd level in a hurry and makes solid contact on the move on florida tape...good feet good athlete lateral quickness...not great in the stoutness dept and will at least early struggle mightily to turn or move legit strength...ie real high end 3-4 noses...solid with his hands good awareness and has his head up...he's an ideal left guard...

Yeah, my bad on the cap number. I thought Omar Kelly had reported that we were 1 mil under. We're just under 5 mil.

That's not counting the recent signing of Alexander though.

Thats a fan blog. When I see the numbers released by the team I will believe them. Nobody know for sure. Remember, all these BS experts, Canfora and Kelly included had the Orton trade as a done deal, matter of hours. They throw crap at the wall and whatever sticks they take credit for. They are all fulll of complete Bull sh*&%t

Normally I would agree, but this is a do or die season and Gurode became a Pro Bowler at Center under Tony Sparano in Dallas. He was switched to guard under Parcells and he stunk it up, moved back to Center and became a Pro Bowler. Sparano has been there and done that with Gurode at guard.
 
we need to get someone on this oline other than jake long who can win in short yardage and on the goalline...we are getting destroyed up front on the goalline...its rediculous
 
Seriously signing Gurode is a no-brainer. Bring him in and teach Pouncey all the little things about playing center at the NFL level. Give Pouncey a year to build strength to handle the big guys and move him to LG now for this year maybe next. Long-Pouncey-Gurode-Incognito- Garner sounds great to me. I think Garner can get it done on the Right side. Even if we leave Pouncey at center he would be a upgrade over Carey. Either move Vernon back to RT or release him. Saves us 2.5 mil.
 
Either way, you have to think that Gurode is better than Carey at RG and better than Pouncey at C, and Carey is better than Columbo and Myrtha at RT.......
 
if gurode comes here i think careys the one that gets shown the door...but i bet they wait til final cuts to do it

garner preseason week 1 struggled on the right side but he's not showing a lack of strength the way murtha is...murtha at right tackle is gonna get a lot of snaps against legit strength and he's just not holding up rght now...make him the swing tackle

cut colombo and carey if your keeping him as a guard...its not happening
 
More Dallas players OH BOY that's a surprise.
