I'm listening to colin cowherd at work and he said some interesting things, I know the guy is polarizing, you either love em or hate em but most of what he said I agree with, he first played a clip of Mannings doctor who says Manning has a 90% chance of full recovery, and the fact that he is 36 and still fairly young and is a hard worker is in his favor, colin went on to say that if a healthy Manning went to Miami we would immediately be a Superbowl contender, he said even without Manning were already on the cusp of being elite and were on the rise, he said we have an elite defense with elite LB's and elite CB's, which I don't agree with, I think Vontae can be elite if he doesn't get lazy and smith is overrated, but I do agree with him in the fact that a healthy Manning makes this team a serious threat in a weakening AFC, Kurt Warner, Favre, and Elway played some of their best fball in the last stages of their careers, I just think it is a risk and it would only be a "quick fix", I'm leaning towards going with Flynn or RG3.

Good to hear some good recognition for once. I can't say I disagree with him BUT...for us to have any sort of success the same players who had success last year will have to repeat, at this point I'm not so sure that Bush can rush for over 1000 again. With that said I would love for him to prove me wrong.

More than half the teams in the NFL would become Superbowl contenders if they got a healthy P. Manning.

Even the Homer in me can't justify a statement that we are on the "cusp" of being a superbowl team. Did not these people see the games this year..
Now a "healthy Peyton" would fill a huge need, but IMO we'd need more talent around him OL, TE, WR, Dependable RB to tandem with Bush, and a GM that recognizes weakness and has the ability to sign the appropriate players.

Honestly I see Peyton as a media and fan tease in which there is a lot of talk and in the end we are unable to sign him..
Also think it would be a poor decision for Peyton, especially if true contenders (like 49ers) get in the picture.

Think the QB position will end up with a candidate not in the picture now and one who will have to be developed, behind Moore, with a more realistic possibility of Flynn, if Philbin is willing to stake his HC career on him.........

I think a serious argument can be made for his being the MVP but you're right about not making every team a contender But the teams who have good defenses and some talent on offense would be a serious SB contender. Miami fits that and yes I know you'll drop in disbelief but with the turmoil surrounding the Jets, I am not sure they would fit the SB category.

Yea especially the JESTS

Nice..lol I hate the Jets.. Actually I hate any team that Miami plays :chuckle:.. But being honest about Manning.. I would love to have him but not for the price that he will demand and especially the risk with his neck.. If it was a shoulder or knee I could live with that.. But the neck!! I would rather take a chance on RG3 Or Flynn.. Manning if healthy would be amazing for a few years.. But what after that.. You only get a few chances to get a franchise Qb.. We need to invest in the future not the short term.. If Flynn is the answer go get him.. If RG3 is the answer then pay the picks and get him.. This franchise needs to take a chance.. I'm tired of everyone else's retreads.. Go Fins

We'd at least split the season series vs the pats (w/ Manning). plus w/ our D, we'd have a chance to win 'em both - by the way the pats play, that's saying a lot. and certainly cream all over the jests and bills.

Realistically, if the jest get him which is doubtful considering the circus and stench-filled lack of class emanating from up there, they would definitely be vying with the Pats for division championship (which, lately when it comes to "holding serve"in their own division they've fallen embarrassingly short).

However, the same can be said for us if PManning is under center. As a matter of fact, we fix the OL and all other things being equal with Moore vs Sanchez, the last 9 games of the season including #16 which actually meant something to the puke greens, would still persuade me we'd end up in second place and in contention for the wild card.
