Coyle: Last play should never been allowed

Hopefully the Dolphins will get the message; Put a team away when the opportunity is there. A TD insead of a FG on that last possession ends all Steeler hope.

Would have been a 10 second run off too if called, right?

To be fair though I think they ****ed up in our favor when Wake took the ball in the endzone, that can't be allowed can it?

it was a problem...not just for the qb but the offense...sherman in the first half tried to run the same o in a deluge he runs when its indoors...best thing that could happen for miami was the clearing up at the half...still sherman has made a couple nice adjustments to more shotgun on 3rd and 1 and shorts knowing he can't just line up and run the ball vs stacked fronts...

but all those deep qb in the deluge sets for shotgun snaps had me saying you got to reign this one in and play it more close to the vest and work off pa and use the backs in the passing game like the steelers did...

no doubt in my mind had that weather continued we lose yesterday...timing based o and you got to get away from a lot of that with the footing etc that was out there in the first half...i was very worried about a deep comeback outside the #'s or whatever and the wr falling down for an easy pick

Thought the same thing -- when it started clearing in the second half, a sense of relief... not that RT wasn't up to the task. He was -- like a boss, not fearing the elements. It's just that Sherman is not used to calling offense suited to that field of play. Steelers -- they live on that field and I've been on that field, watching them own teams because of it. Happens every year -- especially to teams not in their division. It ALMOST happened yesterday to Miami. From play calls, to D calls, to the field goal at the end of the half -- NEVER would have been called by someone familiar w. that field and those elements. The air was heavy even when the snow was not heavy. Kicking into that open end of the stadium on 4th and 1, a 52 yarder -- are you kidding me? You go for the first down or punt. You make the first down, you call timeout and then think about kicking. The choice Philbin made showed a complete lack of field awareness, imo. And same w. Sherman, for the most part.
