The point is, what was the fallout on Solange for the attack? Does society give women a free pass as per attacking men because they're far less likely to inflict damage as compared to a man attacking a woman? Is that really how it should work? Look around you, a lot of women feel that they have carte blanche to attack a man, and if a man even as much as defends himself the po-po are most likely going to come and take him away. Nobody should be attacking anyone, we all know that, but there's some weird shiznet going on when the Ray Rice fallout is beyond enormous and the Solange Knowles fallout is negligible. To me that's not uber irrelevant at all.
And as to your absolute of real men never hitting women, if one came at you with a knife I sincerely doubt that you'd be beyond hitting her to save you life, so drop the absolutes. Talk is cheap.
No, but the damage that a common woman can do (with her fists) is no where near the damage that a common man can do with his.
I in no way approve of anyone committing any acts of violence towards anyone NO MATTER THE SEXUAL ORIENTATION....
Every person has the God given right to defend themselves if and when needed.
As for Solange and Jay-Z.... lotta info coming out lately saying it was staged publicity. Now that could just be PR spin, or truth... whichever it is, shouldn't matter. She assaulted someone, and she should be held accountable. That goes for everyone.
I agree, numbers say that women that abuse a male get away with it for many reasons. Men are taught not to hit women, a man might want to avoid embarrassment, the male may not be believed, or just out of pure fear. Doesn't make it right and women need to understand that if they go and assault or physically hurt someone, they shouldn't cry foul when they get hurt in turn.
But the point here is simple... Jay Z, when attacked, chose NOT to respond in kind, like A MAN should do. Ray Rice, when attacked, chose to respond with more much more force than he received. Keep in mind Ray Rice's profession....
As for your knife argument.... Did Ray's fiance/wife come at him with a knife? Did Solange come at Jay Z with a knife?? So why even bring it up??
And of course, if I were ever attacked with a knife of course I'd defend myself accordingly. That's my God given right remember???
I can come up with irrelevant analogies that aren't related to the topic at hand too, but I won't.
No body used knives, so let's keep it in the same vicinity my friend.
We aren't talking absolutes, we're talking about the Ray Rice situation/video. And the Jay Z video (because you brought it up.)
My right to voice my opinion isn't cheap either... Talk is cheap applies to when I talk about something and won't back it up with my actions.
Bring a knife to me and see how cheap my talk is. Stay on topic smarty pants.
