Crazy idea to fix the Running Back situation......

I'd give Ray Rice a chance. He'd definitely fix the RB situation.

And those people judging him, smh. I'm going w. Janay on this one -- if people really cared about HER and not making a political point, they'd help Ray work and rehabilitate.

Instead, it's all about their preconceived political agenda.

Violence against women, really? Is that what it is? Then why do 99 percent of the people hating on Ray Rice also support Islam? Where not just slapping, but honor killing and raping for "point proving" is in vogue.

Please. It's all politics.

Free Ray Rice. Listen to Janay.

One shot, two kills. That's a popular military saying in the middle east about shooting pregnant women that's gone so far as to be used as an army t-shirt, and it ain't the Muslims wearing it over there. The violence and hatred in the middle east is most certainly a two-way street, not a one sided affair.

Does anyone bother to notice that in the elevator video Rice's wife was in the process of attacking him? To me it looked like an instinctive reaction on his part- not that punching her like that was justified,...

Actually, that's exactly what you just did. You're trying to justify it. "not that punching her like that...". Really?! So how should he have punched her? And that's only an instinctive reaction for a weak minded fool.

I've heard her say that she's furious at the media only because she's traumatized by the violence, and I have to shake my head at that- she's pissed because a moment of violence, part of which shows her as the aggressor, was captured on film and the resulting publicity is ruining her life along with her husband's, financially and otherwise.

It's a privilege to play; not a right. The scumbag is still walking away with 5 million that was guaranteed in his contract. You're sympathy is pathetic.

We really do live in a take-down culture, and most are perfectly happy to pile on. Adrian Peterson hit his kid with a stick- not that I'm a big fan of that, but that has been a common punishment for oh, about the last few thousand years. You can call it a stick or twitch if you live in the country, whatever. I saw the photos- his kid was hit with the twitch behind the knee and he had a scratch- a scratch, not a gaping wound that needed stitches or anything like that- a freaking scratch. And now Peterson is been dismissed from the team, put on the exempt list. Because his kid has a scratch on the back of his leg

You're either ill-informed or mentally ill. These photos are from a week later:

It really was a lot better in the 70's and 80's than this crapfest that we're living in now, and that's a shame. Post 9/11 life and uber political correctness are for the birds compared to the way that things used to be.

Why? Because you could get away with such things? I grew up in the same times and you're stance is warped and disturbingly disgusting.

You're disturbingly on your soap box and acting holier than thou. And to make matters worse, you're a bore. Human nature is to fend off a personal attack- Rice would have been far better off to shove his wife away from him than to punch her, which was uncalled for, but given that she was trying to attack him first my opinion is that the situation and his punishment have gone too far. And if you have a problem with that, you can shove it.

As to the scratches in the photo- yes, a week later they're still scratches. I doubt that reconstructive surgery will be needed any time soon. As I said, I have already seen them.

p.s. As to violent acts in an elevator, what ever happened to Beyonce's sister after she went off on Jay Z in an elevator and started to whale on him? Did the court of public opinion take her out and shoot her? Were there any calls for the death of her career? Or did Jay Z simply refuse to press charges and the family matter faded away, as Mrs. Rice hoped that her own embarrassing and life altering situation would have?

The NFL lets a Dog Killing , X -Con back into the NFL and all is forgiven, . The NFL network praises this guy like the next coming of Christ, Like i've said before Tim Tebow is not a NFL Player. He doesn,t carry a gun, Shot himself, sell drugs, have sex with a underage girl, MURDER someone, Force himself on a young girl in a restroom in a bar. Stab another person with a Knife. He doesn,t beat his wife or girlfriend, or use drugs smoke Marijuana, get involved in bar fights , drive drunk, Kill another person while driving drink, now a new one to the list, HE DON'T BEAT A YOUNG CHILD WITH A STICK. no Tim Tebow IS NOT A NFL player.

So let me ask you guys who lament the idea of Ray Rice returning to the NFL, is the NFL now forced to be a "one strike and your out league"?

Ray has never had a history (to our knowlege) of any type of abuse or violence in the past. He has never had a history of drug abuse. He has never had a history of crime.

So as of right now here is a list of players who should never take the field in the NFL again based on these policies:

1) Ray Rice - Aggravated Assault
2) Adrian Perterson - Child Abuse
3) Koi Misi - Battery
4) Johnathan Dwyer - Aggravated Assault
5) Ray McDonald - Felony Domestic Violence
6) Marcell Dareus - Reckless Endangerment
7) Greg Hardy - Arrested on 2 misdemeanor Assault charges
8) Jah Reid - two counts of misdemeanor battery
9) Davone Bess - Arrested for assaulting a law enforcement officer
10) Daryl Washington - Aggravated Assault
11) Jonathon Amaya - Battery
12) Dez Bryant - Family Violence
13) Rolando McClain - third-degree assault

I mean I could keep listing if I wanted to. So do we boot all of these guys out of the NFL as well? After all some of their charged were much worse than Ray's.

That's fine with me. The NFL's updated domestic violence policy is more than fair and gives them a second chance anyways. The reason Ray Rice should not return is more a football decision than that of any ridiculous appeal process.

Ignorance is bliss.....

Does anyone bother to notice that in the elevator video Rice's wife was in the process of attacking him? To me it looked like an instinctive reaction on his part- not that punching her like that was justified, but at the same time I don't think that Rice being metaphorically taken out behind the barn and shot was justified. He lost his job, his career in in serious question, his reputation is shot and his wife is actually pissed as all hell because of that. I've heard it said that she's furious at the media only because she's traumatized by the violence, and I have to shake my head at that- she's pissed because a moment of violence, part of which shows her as the aggressor, was captured on film and the resulting publicity is ruining her life along with her husband's, financially and otherwise.

And now Peterson is been dismissed from the team, put on the exempt list. Because his kid has a scratch on the back of his leg from a fairly common punishment that existed before this ditzy age that we find ourselves in. And that is in fact the world that we live in- do something wrong, have it caught on camera and it will spread like a virus through twitter and the internet, and you, too, can be taken out behind the barn and shot. It really was a lot better in the 70's and 80's than this crapfest that we're living in now, and that's a shame. Absolutely, I'm neither blind, nor biased... But let a woman attack me, and I can promise you I wouldn't handle it the way he did.

Not to mention the fact that he's an NFL player that can absolutely inflict a great deal of pain upon 99% of the men living on this planet..... let alone what that would do to a woman.

Everyone has the right to defend themselves. But just because a 12 year old walks up to me and punches me in the gut, doesn't mean that I should turn around and knock him out cold, does it?????

BUT BUT BUT HE HIT ME.....

All this arguing and justifying is laughable... it all boils down to one thing.

REAL MEN DON'T HIT WOMEN. SIMPLE AS THAT.

I'd love to see where you got the statistic, "99% of the people that are hating on Ray Rice also support Islam?"

Jay Z also CHOSE NOT TO punch her in the face....

Even though it's uber irrelevant... Where's your point?

The point is, what was the fallout on Solange for the attack? Does society give women a free pass as per attacking men because they're far less likely to inflict damage as compared to a man attacking a woman? Is that really how it should work? Look around you, a lot of women feel that they have carte blanche to attack a man, and if a man even as much as defends himself the po-po are most likely going to come and take him away. Nobody should be attacking anyone, we all know that, but there's some weird shiznet going on when the Ray Rice fallout is beyond enormous and the Solange Knowles fallout is negligible. To me that's not uber irrelevant at all.

And as to your absolute of real men never hitting women, if one came at you with a knife I sincerely doubt that you'd be beyond hitting her to save your life, so drop the absolutes. Talk is cheap.

They do often get a free pass, but this isnt the discussion at hand. And maybe it isnt fair in some ways. But for the most part, women abusing men isn't all that common, and for the most part..men can generally protect themselves from a woman. I know there are exceptions... but why are you even bringing this up?

And Solange didnt knock anyone out either. I feel like Rice's situation wouldn't be so overblown if he didn't cold clock her and knock her unconscious.

And if a woman came at you with a knife ****, come off it man. What's the point here? This sounds like the words a woman beater would use to defend themselves. So what's your motive here?

No, but the damage that a common woman can do (with her fists) is no where near the damage that a common man can do with his.

I in no way approve of anyone committing any acts of violence towards anyone NO MATTER THE SEXUAL ORIENTATION....

Every person has the God given right to defend themselves if and when needed.

As for Solange and Jay-Z.... lotta info coming out lately saying it was staged publicity. Now that could just be PR spin, or truth... whichever it is, shouldn't matter. She assaulted someone, and she should be held accountable. That goes for everyone.

I agree, numbers say that women that abuse a male get away with it for many reasons. Men are taught not to hit women, a man might want to avoid embarrassment, the male may not be believed, or just out of pure fear. Doesn't make it right and women need to understand that if they go and assault or physically hurt someone, they shouldn't cry foul when they get hurt in turn.

But the point here is simple... Jay Z, when attacked, chose NOT to respond in kind, like A MAN should do. Ray Rice, when attacked, chose to respond with more much more force than he received. Keep in mind Ray Rice's profession....

As for your knife argument.... Did Ray's fiance/wife come at him with a knife? Did Solange come at Jay Z with a knife?? So why even bring it up??

And of course, if I were ever attacked with a knife of course I'd defend myself accordingly. That's my God given right remember???

I can come up with irrelevant analogies that aren't related to the topic at hand too, but I won't.
No body used knives, so let's keep it in the same vicinity my friend.

We aren't talking absolutes, we're talking about the Ray Rice situation/video. And the Jay Z video (because you brought it up.)

My right to voice my opinion isn't cheap either... Talk is cheap applies to when I talk about something and won't back it up with my actions.
Bring a knife to me and see how cheap my talk is. Stay on topic smarty pants.

Dude, honestly, I'd be all for it.

I don't care about Miami's PR image anymore -- it's been tainted enough these last few years.
Having a controversial yet productive player on the team, or having a questionable running game = I just want to WIN!

EDIT: Just to make an addendum, I'm mostly going from a "if Moreno is not 100%" angle, as I think Moreno is just as good as Rice, if not better. I would like to see what D. Williams and Darkwa can do, but if these guys don't pan out, I'd definitely give Rice a shot. RB's may be a dime-a-dozen, but Rice I think is good in the types of plays we've tried to run. Also, it's not like Michael Vick (and likely Adrian Peterson) won't be in the league anymore. NFL thrives on talent.

Wow, Ray Rice beats up women and your ok with rooting for him on Sunday because he plays football well smh....

In regards to all those that support him and therefore his actions, it speaks volumes about their character. I'm sorry, I meant to say the lack thereof....
