[h=3]2) Miami Dolphins going big-name hunting at head coach.[/h]The Miami Dolphins will not make the playoffs this season. I'm not exactly going out on a limb with that prediction -- none of our 11 analysts project a postseason bid for the 'Fins. And when this ultimately happens, Joe Philbin will become ex-coach of the Miami Dolphins. Frankly, after last season's bullying scandal -- which, as colleague Judy Battista wrote at the time, did not reflect well on the Dolphins' head coach -- and the way Miami choked away a spot in the playoffs, I'm surprised Philbin is still coaching this team right now.
Dolphins owner Stephen Ross craves the big name. So far, he has swung and missed on Jim Harbaughand Jeff Fisher. Whether it is the hot college name (Kevin Sumlin? Bob Stoops? David Shaw?), the former NFL coach with a big-time pedigree or Harbaugh again, Ross and the Dolphins will be linked to the names that create a splash next offseason.

If the Dolphins won a Super Bowl Schein would find something negative to spin.

Making the safe prediction, w/e. If he's wrong it'll just be another "oh, we'll I sure wasn't the only one".

Can we just start playin football already, we get our chance to prove worthy of respect, and we get it early in the year. See ya Sunday patsies!

if he's wrong, he'll just act as if this has never happened, just like every other journalist would

There aren't a lot of "sports journalists" that like the Dolphins and certainly most of them can't keep their biased opinions from being written. There are very few guys I respect or listen to and most of the time I find myself muting the TV when watching the Phins to get away from the announcers who have a tendency to root for the opposing team on a national televised game.

Adam Schein is 3rd on my list of hacks...led by Jason La Confora who remarkably still has a job.

Missed on Jeff Fisher...he should be praising Ross for that instead of belittling him.

This is more about what the media wants to happen than what will happen in reality. The media hates Miami for the whole bullying thing. Apparently coaches can be unaware that one of their players is out committing numerous murders or knocking out his girlfriend but God forbid they be unaware that one player is sending mean texts to another. Sometimes “swinging and missing” is a very good thing, has Jeff Fisher made the playoffs yet?

Pretty much, but you can't argue with his prediction, if he made that prediction for every year since '01 he'd be 12 for 13.

His record with St. Louis is worse than Philbins with the Phins.

I want the Fins to win and hold thing together, but he is right on what will happen if the team falters this year. Got to get off to fast start before the bye.

Appropriately filed under "Taken With A Grain Of Salt."

He's a bitter, one trickpony jets fanboy azzclown who couldn't get lucky at a Nymphomaniac Convention.

Not a peep on Ray Rice, yet the bullying scandal rocked the world smh....

I just want the team to win, I could care less about Philbin, Sparano, Wannstedt, none of these guys come close to Shula or even Jimmy.

Or the 100s of texts between Hernandez and Belicheat, and Bill lackadaisically suggesting he find a new apartment with Hernandez informed him he was being drawn in by bad influences around him or something to that effect. More vigilance by Belicheat might have prevented at least one, if not more murders.

And is there something about the Harbaugh brothers that engenders domestic abuse by their players?
