Man, Cam Ward is one of the most poised QBs I have ever watched. He reminds me of college Vick in that way- like he is operating at a different speed than everyone else on the field. Just so nonchalant and in command. I don’t see how he doesn’t go #1 next year, but boy would I love to keep him in Miami. Can’t wait to see him in the playoffs.

He's going to the pros after this year... Hopefully, he stays in Miami.

That’s what I meant- he’s in that mix for #1 this next draft. I hope Phins don’t suck enough that becomes an option, and maybe someone gets high on Milroe, etc. to where Miami can pull a KC and trade up for Ward from the early 20’s or so.

Imagine what his numbers would be like if he played whole games. Has he played a 4th quarter yet?

This is why Dorsey didn't win the Heisman that one season. The team was too good. He sat out alot of 4th quarters and one or two second halfs, which kept his stats down. He probably lost at least 1000 passing yards and maybe 10 TD passes because he sat out so much. Ward could lose the Heisman himself the same way, if you care about the Heisman, which I really don't.

Please don't anybody criticize me for thinking Ward should play during garbage time or that Dorsey should have. I don't think that. My argument was just about the statistical effect of not doing so.
Well they are showcasing his arm by throwing almost every down.
He is being given every opportunity to win the Heisman Trophy
He is lights out good.

Cam Ward is the best QB at the U since Jim Kelly
May turn out to be the best to we ever had. Right now he looks better than anyone before him.

He may go number 1 overall. I doubt we will pick that high. We will know more today after the game.

Move goalposts very much?
What do you mean?

Its actually too early to have this discussion, statistically speaking. It's only been 4 OOC games of Cam Ward. Now we're getting into the conference schedule. Now we'll see what he's really made of(Well, maybe not since the conference schedule is so weak). You guys are prisoners of the moment(not to be confused with wrong).

We play Virginia Tech Friday night at 7:30 on ESPN

If you can't get it PM me for a link to the game
I will brother. I’m not near my desk but have at least 3 links for you. But this game should be on TV. A national broadcast?
I see you are a giant Canes fan. Just like me.
They have been my salvation with all the pain surrounding the Phins so far this season.
I grew up in Miami and I have been a lifelong fan of the Phins and Canes.
I think we win the ACC. We finally have a QB. A generational talent.
Might be the best one we ever had?

Loving it so far but there is a long way to go

The Canes are overwhelming favorites in ESPN's Matchup Predictor against the rest of their schedule except Louisville:

  • VT 90.1%
  • Cal 75.7%
  • Louisville 59.8%
  • FSU 90.1%
  • Duke 93%
  • GT 77.9%
  • Wakeforest 96.6%
  • Syracuse 88.6%
With this schedule, under last season's playoff format, if the Canes went 13-0 they would deserve the same fate as FSU(Which FSU didn't deserve). I don't remember FSU's schedule, but I know it wasn't this weak. But because there are 12 teams in the playoff now, CFB isn't really a beauty contest anymore, and they'll have the opposite problem thay they've had until now. A few teams will get in that didn't deserve to, which is better than the opposite. It'll be like college basketball I guess.
