Dallas Thomas was hurt In training camp last year

Maybe I was not fully attentive but I can't recall much being said about this last season. Ireland seems to have had a strange fascination for drafting injured players. Dion Jordan (1st round - shoulder), Jamar Taylor (2nd round - groin) and Dallas Thomas (3rd round - shoulder) were all coming back from serious injuries and our other 3rd rounder, Will Davis was pretty obviously insufficiently physically developed and needed to build up to compete at NFL level. I can understand taking a gamble on one and having a longer time schedule for recovery but gambling on all 4 seems pretty ridiculous.
If all are fully healthy and strong, they could all be contributors. Why would Ireland gamble on all of them?
I was also surprised when the interviewer referred to Thomas as a top 50 Draft pick before the labrum injury. I didn't know that he was rated anywhere near that highly. That's up there in the Jonathan Martin 2nd round rating.

That is simple. Ireland drafted hurt players so that he had an excuse for them when they sucked...

Dallas Thomas will be our RG, IMO. Our O-Line could look like Albert-Smith-Pouncey-Thomas-Z. Martin. Would you guys be good with that?

Dallas Thomas and will Davis have potential anybody giving up on them i can't understand. Davis has a nose for the ball, with some technique work he could be a good starter with league leading int potential. Dallas thomas has great technique but physically could be overmatched. Still has a place in this league

IMO all these 4 players fail back in the draft , and not being injured would have been drafted alot higher , and i think philbin and Ireland knew once they were healthy that they would make a impact at there possion ...

i see him as a guard because I dont see him as having the feet for speed rushers in the league, that being said can he pull?

His feet aren't bad imo, but he lacks power. Look at him next to Tiny Richardson in 2012, Richardson dwarfed him. I see Thomas as a backup Tackle if anything, jmo.

Hoping that Dallas Thomas can be an effective starter next season feels a lot like hoping Jonathan Martin would be adequate/good at left tackle last year. It's not impossible but I have my doubts and sure don't want to see him getting a job by default.

I hope we dont hand him the rg spot. I would like a veteran guard and a rookie right tackle.I dont feel comfortable starting dallas thomas or anyone on this roster at rg next to a rookie right tackle or 2 rookies on the right side. Would like wade smith or wharton at rg. If thomas beats them out great but im not holding my breath

Reaching for an injury at #3, then using what picks we had left to draft other injured players. Mind officially blown.

I have a feeling, hope, want, etc that Jordan, Taylor and Thomas improve drastically. Some say it wouldn't but I say it would be a bonus because they really didn't play all that much.

He will be ready for this year and I think will be a big part in our oline this year

That might explain why he sucked at the beginning of the season. But at the end of the season, when we were looking under rocks for o-line help, he still sucked. It would be wonderful if he turned into a starting caliber player but at this point there's really no compelling reason to predict he will.

So not just one of them, ALL of them. You're predicting that one of the worst drafts in our history will magically turn into one of the best drafts in our history. You must be using a very powerful ball.
