Damon Huard ...."Curse of the Bambino"?

So what if Huard has a ring he didn't earn... Marino wanted to get his ring as a DOLPHIN!! He could have latched on to any team that he figured was heading to the Superbowl, like they do all the time, now... But Marino wanted to lead THE DOLPHINS to a championship!!

Obviuosly I am not comparing Damon Huard to the Bambino Ohio Fanatic...AS I ALREADY STATED DUMB***

What's up with that name calling crud anyway...grow up it's just a messageboard discussion.

My point was since marino retired we have had no consistancy at the QB position.

Dumb post??? He's simply asking what we think it would have been like if Huard had taken over the QB spot. Very good observation and question I think

Thanks gofins

My other point was Marino mentored Huard and spoke highly of him and I believed Marinos comments endorsed Huard for the job.

Huard did go 5-1 as a starter which is the same record A.J. Feeley posted as an Eagle and a huge reason why he was brought in to Miami.

Of course this is all hypothetical since Feidler beat Huard out for the starting job the next year anyway.

Well we all know how the Feidler experiment worked out.

Last point is I don't feel the Dopphins have had a starting QB quality player at that position since Marino retired.

I don't actually believe in curses I just thought it would be a different way to introduce this topic/observation.

death7star......I believe your right, the curse started after the 74' SB win...but I wish I could blame it on the Cowboys and the 72' loss.

I hate those guys

Is Huard the Dolphins version of the "Curse of the Bambino"

Miami has been in a tailspin as far as the QB position goes since Dan retired and things are up in the air now in 2005.

OK ..... now I know Huard is no Bambino but he did earn championship rings from Super Bowls XXXVI and XXXVIII with New England.

Marino personally worked with the mobile Huard and he had Marino's endorsement as his successor and Huard went 5-1 when called on to start when Marino was hurt.

While Huards career hasn't been stellar I just wonder how different the Phins and Huard would have been instead of going with the Feidler option.

Three words: NOT VERY DIFFERENT !
