Daniel Thomas

I would say at this point, and granted its early, the choice of Daniel Thomas over Ryan Mallett appears to be a MISTAKE.

If you stuck Thomas behind a decent O-line he would be good, just don't ask the guy to block. Peterson couldn't run behind that O-line it's a work in progress.

During the first quarter Reggie Bush had the look on his face that said what did I do?????

The holes were terrible but he also wasn't running with any patience (ala his number-sake, Karim Abdul-Jabbar). The guy needs to slow down and then burst through the hole. He was so juiced up to be out there playing he was like a blind bull elk crashing through the trees in search of something to ****. Only with fewer broken tackles.

I agree. After rewatching his runs he didn't allow the blocks to develop. He also needs to learn to keep his pad level down in order to break tackles or at worst fall forward on his runs. On 4 of his 5 runs he left some yardage on the field because of impatience. A couple of runs he could have bounced them to the outside for big gains against LB run blitzes but didn't read it properly. He will get better but he is very raw right now. Coaching will be critical with this kid.

The run after catch he made looked great last night. I will say that.

This.

I'd completely buy the "our o-line sucked last night" excuse if we hadn't just spent a first round pick on a interior lineman.

When are players rated out for their careers for their 1st preseason game? I'm just asking. If this was the case Cadillac Williams would still be running well and Livas should be put in the HOF.

Ah, so instead when we see something extremely unimpressive we should automatically assume its going to turn around and become all pro.

Our first team offense was truly awful last night in almost every phase. That wouldnt bother me, or others, so much if they didn't look exactly the same as they did last season.

I thought he was more like running into a wall. Then on the one catch he made, he looked slow to me.

Ed, the regime's defenders say this is devoid of objective analysis. And yet, you've summarized everything in a factual and logical way.

No, we ACTUALLY watched the game and responded to the erroneous contention that DT looked like he was 'running in quicksand'. Perhaps you should save your dissonant response for another thread when the subject of Sparano and the O-line is the topic being duscussed.
BTW, I'm assuming you are responding to my post since it was I who stated that the thread starter was devoid of objective analysis.

All I can say is this guy looks as if he is running in quicksand.

:rolleyes2: Dude, he had no hole to run. He looked explosive when he caught the ball out of the back field. Completely disagree with post.

I haven't seen the replay yet but after reading this thread let me get this straight. You mean after 3 seasons with an O Line expert at head coach, firing a good asst coach to hire another OL guru, 2 1st round draft picks, countless FAs and what a 100 something million dollars spent, one guy is out and the entire line still sucks. How can this happen?

What part of no preparation was conducted for this game do you fail to understand. Did you listen to the coach all week saying he was going to treat this like a scrimmage. The O-line don't normally start opening in holes until the third game of the pre-season How long have you been watching football? Or is your hatred for this regime so great you decided to throw logic out the window? Fact: LT LONG, (Draft Pick) LG: Incognito (F.A.) Pouncey (Draft Pick) RG:Carey (Draft Pick) RT: Marc Colombo (F.A.) what the **** are you ranting about..

I'll give you the benefit of doubt, you can't possibly be serious. And you can tell by watching one pre-season game? Why are you not a scout, coach or GM somewhere.

Donald Thomas can't get even hold Ronnie Brown's jockstrap! And the sad thing is we traded up for him! He'll be injured this year with how high he runs. LMFAO
