Dansby not happy with Dolphins’ decision to dump Chad Johnson

I just don't get where on the basis of pink slipping a guy who already had one foot in the grave, there's a perception that Coach Joe is losing control of his team or for that matter is conflict-averse. After the embarrassment of a Presser, Philbin handled Ocho with aplomb, letting him know in a soft key way that any further transgressions would not be tolerated. To be heavy handed or confrontational, knowing that the cameras were rolling would have been an insult to the man's dignity being dressed down in such a public manner nationally! Now Philbin with his Teddy Rooseveltian "Speak softly but carry a big stick" approach has drawn a line in the sand exactly where it should have been drawn. Too many years of walking all over the meatball results in a slow build when it comes to changing the culture, but we're on our way fersure.

It is a bunch of media bull****. This is the same **** that happened with the last incident with brandon marshall. Chads wife is a crazy bitch and she has the violent history to prove it. Even other players in the nfl think she is crazy. Cops came took pictures of her and probably babied her to make the story benefit her. Just another black guy beating his wife in south Florida in their eyes. I guarantee Chad didn't touch her but since he went to jail and got caught up in this mess, Philbin released him. This was probably a statement to all in the locker room that Philbin is no joke. He wants everyone to be on their best behavior and NO EXCEPTIONS.
I feel if this was earlier in Chads career he would still be here. I still feel like this is somewhat of an mistake. But at the same time Chad was only going to be here for a year anyway. After the preseason game I am actually excited for our young receivers since they are young they can be molded into a great wr core. I am going to miss chad simply because I grew up watching him play. This is his only run in with this type of situation and I feel people are being a little hard on him. IMO he needs the benefit of the doubt, especially when he runs around that crazy bitch. Goodbye Chad hope it ends well for you. Now lets mold these young guys.

I feel this organization has truly changed. We are actually sticking by our words now. I think Jeff Ireland and MR. Ross will learn from Philbin fast. I am excited to see this season unfold although my expectations are low. But for next year my expectations are very high as well as excitement. The future is now my friends.

He's been doing that. I think he's doing that right now. Every player feels vulnerable to getting into some situation that looks bad but isn't what everyone thinks it is, and they want to know that the team has their back in that situation. It's sort of like how the unions automatically have an initial stance of backing the worker almost no matter what.

But I think in this case the evidence is there, and the circumstances were extenuating. This is a guy that came in on a one-strike policy, on the veteran's minimum with no signing bonus, and they've said all along that first he has to "make the team", and part of that involved keeping his nose clean and not being a headache. Then he goes on a press conference rant dropping F-bombs all over the place, talking about going into porn, talking about smoking weed with Gene Simmons (trust me you didn't hear that on Hard Knocks or anywhere else but he said it, and the fact that it's been edited out of every public conversation since shows you just how STUPID it was for Chad to say that), and now he gets into an argument with his wife that leaves her with a 3 inch laceration on her face and giving taped and sworn evidence against him?

Oh I hear ya CK, I am glad they made an example of Chad. I wanted him gone the second I heard about the incident regardless of guilt. This needed to be done, what I am pissed about the most is Dansby running at the flaps about how this was handled poorly by the staff.

Dansby could have kept this **** in house and between himself and Joe and/or Ireland. This **** wouldn't have happened in the Baltimore locker room with Lewis or in Pitt or New England for that matter, teams with very well established team leaders. You're damn sure Lewis would have spoke to someone about how it was handled but it wouldn't have been reporters.

that's precisely my take on it. act like a clown, you're cut. play like a bum, you sit the bench. and for dansby to state the incident would be out of character for johnson is absurd. he's wildly insecure and highly emotional plus there's nothing more infuriating than suddenly realizing you married a callous monster.

I don't even remember what you're talking about. Did you disagree with me something about Antonio Bryant? I recall doing a catch reel from about 5 of his games. It was every catch. I didn't leave anything out, as I recall. Meant to be informative. I'm not sure where there's room for disagreement on an informational video. He looked like a good free agent prospect, but then we discovered that his knees are F-cked with a capital 'F'. In fact he just got signed by the Seahawks and then when they tried to get him practicing they discovered his legs are still too F-cked to play. C'est la vie.

I am just saying. When I was little my mom and dad got into a fight and mom ran into the room to call the cops. My dad ran in at the same time and they ran into each other. Since my dad was huge my mom fell over on her side. My dad really didn't mean to knock her over. When the police came my mom said he hit her and had the marks to prove it.... Just saying.
