Darkhorse GM Candidates

I'd be ok with this. Ever since I heard Ireland's explanation of his pre-draft conversation about the questions he asked Dez Bryant (about his mom), I have wondered about Ireland. The draft picks we have made, and the guys we have passed on have been real head scratchers. Taking Ted Ginn, Jr. over Patrick Willis and several other top players is just one example. We need to clean out all of Bill Parcell's hires, fumigate the place, and start over.
Ted Ginn Jr was Cam Camerons selection but as for cleaning out everything relating to Parcells you are correct.

Jeff didn't draft Ted and his family....

Just remember that coming from a successful franchise doesn't guarantee success. There are quite a few examples of this. The last two Baltimore Ravens personnel assistants that went on to be GMs are Phil Savage and George Kokonis. Both got fired, though I'm not certain Savage got a fair deal.

Pioli is struggling in KC without Belichick. All of Belichick's assistant coaches (from the Patriots) who have become head coaches have been fired.

John Schnieder has only been in Seattle for two seasons, but right now, that is with mixed results.

Thomas Dimitroff gets a lot of love, but the fact his, Atlanta has not drafted well at all under his tenure.

Some of the best hires that were made in the past few years:

Mark Dominik with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It was a promotion from within, but he has been around that team and worked with guys like Rich McKay, Tim Ruskell, and Ruston Webster.

The early results on Trent Baalke are good, but it is a small sample size. Buddy Nix in Buffalo has worked out well.

As far as coaches though, Mike McCarthy's offense in SF the year before he was hired was 32nd in the NFL. Sean Payton had his play calling duties revoked in New York.

i would love ball, or moriaty, those 2 would be great hires, i really don't want cowher for the simple fact that he wants total control, that really doesn't work any more, holmgrem couldn't do it in seattle, and said the hell with it, a team needs a coach and gm, not for one to do both

Well Cower has openly stated he wants total control. So if you concede Bill is your first choice then he is also your GM.
Don't want to give total control to a guy who's going to quit after his first or second season.
