Darlington on state of the dolphins. (on finsiders)

Ok. However, if Jim Turner is canned...another guy he is close too, it is actually very close to Tennessee.

Zac Taylor will go I bet.

Actually no. Munchak was asked to fire his ENTIRE staff. He wasn't willing to do it. MUCH different scenario. You really need to sure up your facts first man.

Mike Munchak was asked to fire 6 coaches. Joe Philbin was asked to fire 1 coach. What you are doing is trying to guess the future, which you happen to be very bad at anyway.

No he wasn't. He was asked to fire 6 coaches or as this article states..."a good portion of his staff". That is not his entire staff.

You need sure up on your facts.

Ok, but when more coaches are jettisoned as Darlington speculates as does Alex Marvez...will you say "my bad" if I happen to be right?

Bunch of crap. He basically said that Ireland was great and Tannehill will be elite.

Easy tiger.....not sure he said that Ireland was great, but I do agree with him on pretty much that entire interview. Ireland did put together a playoff caliber team. A team that beat 4 of the 6 AFC teams in the playoffs.......but couldn't beat the Jets and Bills to get in. That's on coaching. The issues with the sacks can't be solely blamed on Ireland either. Tanny had no pocket presence during the first half of the season and his cadence was awful. Again coaching issues. And who could have predicted Bullygate. Pro Football Focus had the Fins line ranked in the middle of the pack....despite all the b.s. we went through this season.

Everyone bitches about Ireland, and I'm not saying he's great......but give him some credit.

Doubt it. He is very close to both RT and Matt Moore.

As for this notion that the Munchak and Philbin situations are similar thats phooey. The Titans wanted Munchak to fire both coordinators and thats huge. Big difference when you identify positions instead of numbers.

No, because like i said 3 times already, Joe was asked to fire 1 coach. Munchak was asked to fire his entire staff. What dont you get about that? That will never change, even if some new OC comes in an replaced Jim Turner or whatever, Philbin was still asked to only fire 1 coach and his situation was not the same as Munchak's.

What playoff caliber team did Ireland put together? The one with one NFL worthy starter on the entire line, the one with two overpaid linebackers that did nothing. Also anyone that buys that an oline that gave up a dolphin record 58 sacks was average to middle of the pack needs to reevaluate how they assess a damn offensive line no offense. Yes we beat some playoff teams but we also lost to Tampa Bay, Buffalo Twice and the Bills.
We had the 21st ranked defense in the league whats so playoff caliber about that? The offense has sucked since 2009 what else is new. No line that give up 58 sacks and is middle of the pack that's just reason number 75 why PFF stats are meaningless. I give him all the credit for one of the crappiest olines in dolphin history and the regressed defense. Your right though why bitch as a fan we should be used to the mediocrity of a Jeff Ireland built team

OMG you actually did some research before posting something. A ****ing miracle.

Now that you know that you see the firings are unrelated and made this, your own thread moot.

Sure up your facts before posting threads spouting accusations rumors and opinions as fact. You do this A LOT!

This is why I really dont have a HUGE issue with Jeff being retained. NO he is not GREAT and he missed on a BUNCH of picks but at the end of the day the roster has talent. NO it is not filled with talent up and down but what team is. The best thing about the roster is it is a very YOUNG roster. You have to give Jeff some credit. Every GM misses and every GM hits. Could he be better YES! could he be worse YES!. Never the less this team competed and was capable of beating 4 playoff teams. Coaching played a big part in those wins yet they loss to the bills and Jets.............. coaching played a big part to those losses.

Wait WAIT WAIT!!!!!!!

Jeff is responsible for all of that?????

Funny the LB's that Jeff cut lose when they played in Miami EVERYONE wanted them GONE. They go one to new teams and they are in the top 3rd ranked as LB and Barnet is #2.

SOUNDS LIKE COACHING TO ME!!!!!

Lets call it for what it is. I am nost supporting Jeff either way but lets be truthful about it.

Hayden stop being ridiculous...how is a Joe a coward for letting Sherman go? philbin, whether he wanted to keep Sherman or not, is in Miami to do a job. Sherman was not getting the job done, Phil in showed loyalty due to friendship not necessarily because he thought he did a good job. Joe can say he thought he did a good job but we will never know the truth because Joe will not throw him under the bus.

stop being so dramatic about loyalty Hayden.

Nice to know I'm not the only one getting tired of the **** some are posting.

Just STOP. PLEASE STOP IT

I agree that soem stuff is a little out there but Hyden has a point!

If Ross trust Joe and he believes that Jos knows best then why force him to fire Sherman? The thing that we all would want to know that we will never know the answer to is if Joe could have kept him would he?

It should never have come to Ross getting involved with the staffing thing. If joe knew Sherman was an issue he should have fired him with no question. BUt there was push back from Joe. So do we as fans trust him?

Hyden has a real point. We dont haev to agree with him but the logic is correct.
