Darlington: Tannehill to start vs Raiders

Joe has butchered this week to say the least.

Stay behind your QB or bench him. This "46 best players" crap is BS.

In a strange way, it might unite the team…as they play in spite of their HC.

Year 1 was the dismantling of the leadership council. Year 2 was bully-gate and Year 3 is a QB controversy started by Philbin in week 3.
 
It should be noted that OP opines that if RT struggles Sunday he will be benched after the bye. That is NOT what Jeff Darlington is saying, but the OP.

In a strange way? If it works and Tannehill gets better and the team gets better how is it "in a strange way?" If it works the message was received and he should get credit. If it doesn't work then the team will fall apart, which is where the team was headed anyway.
 
Philbin is on the fringe of losing this team and its fan base.

Better have a epic showing against the Raiders or things will turn sour quick.

NOOOOOOO….the team winning DESPITE their coach is not what Joe is trying to accomplish now. He is trying masterful jedi mind tricks ala Bill Parcells and he is flaming out as such.

I will run with the Jason Cole story and agree with Marino that Joe has mishandled his QB.

But if he's playing mind tricks and the players rally around the QB how is that failing in the mind tricks?

And Marino said that story is BS. Especially the part about him believing Philbin is mishandling the QB.
 
WTF else was Marino going to say? He's on the team payroll now and a story came out that makes it look like he is sabotaging his team's head coach 3 games into the season.

How does this not give Cole an out to make up whatever he wants? If Marino doesn't refute it it must be true and if Marino does refute it then that means Marino is now lying about it.

And worse than that even if it is true its not really that good either because he is undermining the coach/team 3 games into his tenure and is already having to do damage control.

You are free to speculate on whatever you like, and I think its likely Marino and Philbin won't see eye to eye on many things, but don't continue to quote Marino based on a bleacher report report after Marino came out himself and refuted it.

If Cole is making this up, people in the Dolphins will stop talking to him. He'll lose scoops and info.

But on the flip side, I don't like Jason Cole, I've never thought he was particularly objective or credible, and if you want to argue that he just totally made this up, then I won't argue with you.

I don't think he's making it up. CK said he got a tweet about the same thing hours before the Cole thing. He's says you'd be surprised how quickly this stuff gets leaked. There is obviously some rat fink within the organization super horny to leak info though, which sounds like a recipe for embellishment. And Marino needs to be more careful about what he says in front of who.

And if Cole is willing to make Marino look bad to Ross and Philbin look bad to everybody I doubt keeping the team/his sources happy is any incentive for him...

Example #1,267 of how something could not possibly be Joe's fault. Give me a break.
