Daryn Colledge Interest Per Rotoworld

I hope we aren't forced to start either Turner or Thomas at guard.

If we sign Colledge, and Garner is still on the team(is he?) I dont see Thomas making the final roster tbh.

I would like to sign Colledge and let he Garner, Turner, and Smith battle for the 2 starting guard positions. If Turner wins a job as a starter, Im assuming he would play LG.

Hell, I would let Thomas battle it out with the other 4, I just dont see him making the team ahead of any of those guys. If he does, fine. But, he would have to make huge strides from where he was last August to make a case IMHO.

Top 8 OL.......

Albert, Pouncey, James, Turner, Colledge, Smith, Garner, Fox. Thats a pretty solid group there. No more complaining about CORN!

I think Sam Brenner is in that guard mix as well. He may or may not make it, but he flashed some potential last year.

Ah, yea. Another player who is better than Dallas Thomas. Thomas already has his work cut out for him to make this roster in that case.

Then if we add Colledge, that should be your final 9 once you include Brenner to the list I had. With Fox as the primary backup T and the flexibility of Turner to play T should we get hit with a couple of injuries, those 9 should do it.

WV it appears that you have removed the Ryan picture is this correct?

Nope only your first post on a page has a signature. Unfortunately hes still a hater. If tannehill beats the pats week 1 I think he will come back to his side. Then back when he loses lol

He is never allowed back, he gets to eat his crow for Tannehill's entire career wit the Fins.

Whatever your opinion is of how you think Tannehill will turn out in end the picture is well... never-mind. Hope we sign maybe one more OL with some experience at least for depth.

Honestly he's a guy I'd like to bring into the mix personally...he's at least a quality pass protector. I'd like him to start at RG so we have a vet next to James...then the plan would be for Shelley Smith and Billy Turner to duke it out for left guard duties. Smith is better on the left side and I feel as if Turner transitioning to LG as opposed to RG would be much easier for him after playing LT in college. If Colledge were a complete flop then I'd leave it up to Smith, Turner, Thomas, Brenner to duke it out for 2 guard spots.

Im happy a guard. we havent made a commitment meaning its open competition for all of they guys involved. With Smith, Brenner, Garner, Thomas, Turner, and undrafted guys i think 2 starters will emerge and play well and also leave solid depth at the position.

Not to mention the youth at the position and if guys develop well we could be set for years to come if it pans out.

WV - Don't jump to conclusions. Let's see what Dallas Thomas can do in Training Camp before writing him off. He, like Jordan, was coming off labrum injury and surgery last year and started way behind the 8 ball and the coaches were deliberately cautious. There are no excuses this year. He's healthy and I expect him to be very competitive. Especially with his Vol buddy Ja'Wuan James next to him.
However, if he looks lousy in Training Camp, he's very likely a major bust. He needs to be strong, agile and smart (and he knows it).

Im more than willing to give him a chance. It would be foolish to not give him an opportunity in camp. I just know that last August he looked like the worst cornfed on the field in every game. That says a lot seeing as we had some pretty rotten corn.

But, there is no sense to not give him another shot. It dosent hurt anything to keep him around for camp and preseason. However, if he hasnt made significant strides, I dont see how he makes the final roster. We have 8 pretty solid corn right now IMHO. If we add Colledge, that makes 9.
