Dave Hyde: Jason Taylor thinks you'll tell quickly on Gase

Did you watch the first round of the playoffs?? They all looked terrible minus Kansas city. We could've won any of those games...minus Kansas city I think.

This is fact. The AFC is terrible right now. If we would have at least been average we could have been in the playoffs. What a missed opportunity this year.

Im not sure i see the talent everyone else does.

We need an entirely new linebacking unit. Brent Grimes is the only corner worth a damn on the roster and he was straight up bad last season. Our defensive end situation, the second most important unit in football, is terrifying. We basically haven't had a free safety since Renaldo Hill. And our offensive line is simultaneously lacks depth and talent, which is truly amazing given the number of picks we put into it.

I couldn't be happier about our receivers and still like Jordan Cameron. I still believe Tannehill can become a quarterback in the Joe Flacco mold, at least as far as production is concerned. If we can get franchise level type of play from Tannehill i suppose a playoff trip through a weak AFC isn't unheard of. But im not exactly banking on it.

You can't miss on as many drafts as we did and not have any consequences. We need clever solutions to un**** this roster.

I find this telling...
"Am I optimistic that Ryan Tannehill can be developed and turn into a quarterback you can consistently win with? Sure."

We're in year 5. His development should be over by now. We have what we have. Too bad he's currently the best in the clubhouse.

I think JT was referring to giving the new Coaching regime 5 years, sir.

Shhh... You are going to get killed by Tanny blind lovers my friend!!!!!

Miami averaged 25 a game last season with Philbin and less talent.

And then when some of us question the Gase hiring, some fans bring out lots of arguments on why he was the best possible hiring and we are stupid. Just like with Tannehill, there is always an argument to defend all the moves this organization has done and so far the results are that we haven't been a winning team since 2008!!!! I mean maaaaybe Tannehill is indeed the answer, maaaaaybe Gase is the next great coach, but if past results count, I wouldn't be optimistic about it. I will pray for it but like the song said. I am hoping for the best but expecting the worst.........

I would disagree. I think Chicago has a ton of talent. Matt Forte, Jeremy Langford, Alshon Jeffries, and Martellus Bennett are all very good players.

Jeffery played like 5-6 games tops. Bennett was lost for the season in week 8 I believe. Other than that, they didnt have much weapons.

Sucks you feel like you have to insult people that don't share your opinion.

Here comes the first one!

And on the record I don't hate Tannehill, I would be a happy man if he is the answer.
I was not intending to insult anyone by the way, I respect all opinions, just hate when Tanny blind supporters laugh, insult or minimize others that differ.

no one is minimizing anything, are we not allowed to disagree that a qb's development is done by year 5? i certainly don't think think that's true.

don't be so paranoid. the only one using the "Tannehill hater/blind supporter" lingo here is you lol.

Hopefully you're right and he can develop into a QB. We should give him another 5 years,a nd if he doesn't get it by then, only 5 more after that. But not more than that. All I've seen so far is he can throw a football. No accuracy, timing, pocket awareness, leadership. Not sure where his development has been. Some people say he developed because he doesn't overthrow by 10 yards now, only 3 so that's development. it's still not on target.

okay buddy. Keep watching high school football I guess, or something.

People who say stuff like, "We're in year five of the Tannehill development with little to show, etc." -- how is this serious?

You mean with the head coach like Philbin, that does his best to undermine the QB's play on the field, with the worst passblocking OL in the league over four years?

You mean with a QB coach that got his job by being related to the OC -- and kept his job by virtue of the same?

What is this development except being set up to fail? And yet RT still made strides. Because he is a football player. Even bad reps were still used as generally positive reps to him, risks to his heath aside.

I may sound like a homer here, but a lot of people are gonna be surprised at how well Tabnehill looks with Gase being his new "guru" Cutler had a great personal year throwing to bums most of the time. If Gase can make Cutler look competent then Tannehill should have little problem looking good.

1000% this. Adam Gase got hired for the big job but it's Vance Joseph that has the hardest job in the building this year.
