Dave Wannstedt's Quaterbacks, if you want to call them that

I am not sure but I think Wanny inherited some of these
Erik Kramer
Dave Krieg
Steve Walsh
Jim Harbaugh

Also you need to include other stalwarts QB Wanny acquired in Miami such as Cade McNown and Josh Heupel.

What baffles me is not that Wanny has had so many bad QB's, which is still preplexing in itself, but that in 12 years of being a NFL head coach he never got himself a top QB, in fact I can't recall him even trying.

And has even drafted one in his five years here?? I can't think of any and know I'm kinda curious if he drafted any in Chicago.
 
Erik Kramer is the best QB the Bears have had in decades. He obviously wasn't Wanny's guy in Chicago, but they had a great passing game before he showed up with Kramer, Conway, and Jeff Graham. I don't remember if it was during his regime or not, but a huge mistake Chicago made was not re-signing Graham and opting for an innefective defensive player.
 
Erik Kramer had the best season of the Wannstedt quarterbacks. In 1995, Erick Kramer completed 315 of 522 passes (60.3%) for 3,838 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. Kramer then got injured in 1996, and in 1997, Wannstedt made the deal for Rick Mirer, before Kramer could prove he was healthy. Kramer beat Mirer out for the job, and had another decent season, throwing for over 3,000 yards again and completing around 57% of his passes. His touchdown production dropped to 14 though. Kramer was on his way to another good season in 1998 when he got injured again. He was on pace for around 3,700 yards with a 60% completion percentage and 18 touchdown passes. Wannstedt finished that year with Stenstrom and Moreno at QB.

Erik Kramer was a very good quarterback that couldn't stay healthy. For some reason though, he was always the guy that Dave tried to replace. Think about that. The guy Dave tried his damndest to replace was the most productive quarterback he's ever had.
 
Oh, Dave's "guy" in Chicago was Steve Walsh. Dave did everything he could to make Walsh his starter in Chicago, to the point that it was painfully obvious that Kramer was better.

Concerned about the health of QB Erik Kramer, Wannstedt traded the Bears' eleventh pick in the first round to Seattle for beleaguered QB Rick Mirer, along with Seattle's fourth round pick that the Bears used to draft Northwestern RB Darnell Autry. After this moment, many began to question Wannstedt's judgement on personnel matters. In the 1997 draft, Wannstedt traded up to pick USC tight end John Allred with the Bears first pick, then took Washington guard Bob Sapp in the third.
