I know many of you out there like to beat him up, because of his knees, but thats is the only thing you can knock him for. Not only is he big, fast, but he has great hands. So far he has caught every ball thrown to him, and as many drop balls there was last night against Pitt, I believe he had a chance to really shine.

Not only that but he plays better in games than in any practice.

I think Boston's really proved he can play this preseason. He may not be ready to start yet but he'll make some big plays for us this season.

I came on here today to specifically post a thread like this. You beat me to it. While I fully understand this is a former NFL leading WR playing mostly against second-team Ds this off-season, I really think Boston is back. Will he ever get to that 2001 Ariz performance. i doubt it. But if he keeps getting heathier and more confident, I tink he can eventually take Booker as second WR. I like Booker, and he's a solid #2, but Boston is gettting back that point where every time he grabs the ball, you get the feeling something REALLY big can happen.

I knew he was a great aqusation last year, unfortunately he got hurt. Him and booker were great moves of our old regime. Boston will get back to form, and I think booker will too.

We just need a QB to get them the damn ball!!!

I've been thinking its pretty sad when your hoping couch gets brought in to compete :(

correction: he had ONE drop.

but with 5 catches i cannot blame him, he certainly performed better than other WRs on our team.

that said, his catches came on quick 5-yard outs and in the 3rd and 4th quarters against Pitt's cleanup defense. If Boston can make those catches (and hopefully more than 5 yards) against the FIRST string D, then i'll be more impressed. Keep in mind this is the same string D that Maurice Mann caught over 100 yards against last week. Does that mean Mann should be a starting WR? no.

true, but keep in mind, that pitt's second-string D is better than half the NFL's starters. lets not forget how their bench dominated a playoff-bound bills team in week 17 with nothing but pride to play for. Not saying you don't have a point, but Pitt has a lot of depth on D.

Really?

1) Knees/injury prone (you mentioned that)
2) Takes substances banned by the NFL
3) Assaults senior citizens
4) Has an attitude problem (see: Chargers suspension)

You *can* knock Boston for much more than his knees.

He didn't field a single pass from Gus, right? I think that would be the difference.

Maurice Mann caught one less pass than Boston versus that 3rd string defense. Does that mean Mann should start opposite Boston? Lamar Gordon and Sammy Morris also ran for more yardage than anyone else during that same run with Feeley/Boston/and company. Does that mean we should cut ricky and keep morris and gordon?

what i'm saying is take his performance with a grain of salt. It was good to see Boston get some action, and he held up to the hits pretty well, but its not hardly time to start singing his praises yet.

Boston will win the 2nd receiver spot and the only thing stopping him is his knee. If his knee recovers well after practices and these last two preseason games Booker will be the slot. Chambers and Boston stretching the field opens up running lanes for Ricky and Ronnie.:lifter:

yep.

and one game with 34 yards receiving can tell us that! ;)

It seems people are overlooking Bostons ability to block on running plays. He is a huge guy and can come inside to block an OLB or SS on outside runs or on cutbacks. Being that Linehan uses 3 WR sets, Boston would play the slot even if he passed Booker on the depth chart, just for his size and ability to block down.
