most teams already have invested in their starting qb and rarely bring in qbs for competition if they are set ala, tom brady, eli manning, aaron rodger, philip rivers, matt ryan, josh freeman etc... you dont bring in other qbs to compete when you are pleased with the qb spot...so dont act like just becaue only miami and the rams were interested that gerrad is some how not capable of being a starter...he has been a starter and never was a backup so i dunno how he is automatically a backup....miami has unsolved mysterys at qb and i dont think the rams are that that comfy with bradford and his injury history...so yeah they may have saw gerrad as a backup but would definately feel comfortable with him there incase bradford went down...in miami's case, yeah moore played well..but u dont give the guy the keys to the whip with an average to above average qb play last year...furthermore this is a completely new offense i doubt matt moore has a head up on it over anyone else at this point...the qb position is wide open...sure id love to see matt continue but its not deserved with a new offense system being implemented this year.
Sorry this was in response to the below poster.

In my mind this means we are scraping the bottom of the FA barrell signing 34 year old QBs. Hope Philbin can identify someone good in the draft that the GM wont screw up in getting.
